Here is a loophole for Word 2007.
When opening a Password protected (read only) document (.docx)
Go Save As - File Type Word 97-2003 Document (.doc) - Tools (button, bottom left of file save window) - General Options - Unprotect Document - Ok - Save
Close the current document, then open the unprotected doc you just saved, and you will have full editing access to the document.

I had Print Artist installed on a laptop with a cd; however, my new laptop does not have a cd slot. How can I install on my new laptop

I am a retired Network Engineer... with over 35 years in computers, and have never seen a modern laptop that DOESN'T have a CD-Rom drive in it... Look on the side, sometimes they are hard to see. However, if you REALLY don't have one, try downloading it from here: (but it will cost you $50)

http://www.novadevelopment.com/software/print-artist-platinum-501370

If you have access to another computer with a CD-Rom drive, AND you have a good sized Flash Drive, you could TRY copying the entire contents of the CD onto your Flash Drive and then using IT to load from... (This doesn't always work...)

Optical drive D: repair in windows 8.1

Sounds like Autoplay is not configured. You can see how to change your Autoplay settings on Microsoft's web site here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-autoplay-settings#1TC=windows-7. Autoplay is a strange duck, doesn't always work regardless of settings. You can also open 'computer', which in Windows 81 shows as your User Name, not 'Computer' or 'My Computer' like older versions, then right-click Drive: D, and click 'Play with VLC Media Player', which is the best player I believe - I've used it for years.

Computer cannot access hp v165w

Sounds like you corrupted the MFT (master file table) on the flash drive. Format the flash drive and start over. You could also try something like GetDataBack after you flash the drive to recovery your data.

LG laptop usb ports not working

do you have the program needed to get what you have on your flash drive? If you don't have a photo program or pdf program or what ever to open it, it won't work. try connecting something else that uses USB port to it and see if that works, then you will know if its a program problem or your computer. if its the computer, you can replace it.

Help with sharing a printer

Did you check both computers for updated drivers. Go to Lexmark's website and download the latest drives for you printer/OS. The drivers that came in the box were the latest when the CD was printed. That could have been years ago. So any time you have an issue, look for the latest drivers from the manufacture first.

Hope this helps

- Download drivers from E07EI1 website http://www.ecs.com.tw
-Download nlite http://www.nliteos.com/
-Copy contents of windows CD in folder on computer
- Install nlite on that computer and run program, during the creation of customized installation include drivers for E07EI1 and create iso image.
-Burn that iso image on CD and with that CD perform installation of operating system on E07EI1

"'Xbox' & 'Microsoft' Logos Will not Bypass at Startup".

Hi,
i,d suggest that it,s possibly a replacement hard-drive, or that a file on the drive has been moved or deleted.
Usually if an xbox has an error, it will frag ( flash red/green ) Or ( Orange/Green ) if the A/V Is Faulty. Also as to whether youre getting on-screen error codes. usually top left/right of screen.
error 5 et,c. means hard-drive unlocked.
Due to Fixyas terms and policys, i cannot tell you exactly how to fix this, but i can tell you that it is not unrepairable.
the hard-drive is locked to the motherboards eeprom chip, so is therefore only replaceable, with certain tools.
should you need more information regarding this, feel free to ask.

How to recover data from a seemingly dead/non-functional USB flash drive

I own three flash drives, and follow this procedure. When you connect a flash drive, it should show up in "My Computer" as a removable drive - with a letter designation. Windows 98 requires driver software, XP and VISTA does NOT.

When you DISCONNECT the flash drive, you should "right click" on the drive icon, and select EJECT. The little light on the flash drive will go OUT, and THEN IT IS SAFE TO REMOVE IT. If you just pull the flash drive out without going through the disconnect ritual, you risk blowing the drive, and it is kaput. Doesn't always happen, but it can.
