Canon MP530 printer's in use/memory light blinks and clicks

On my canon MP530 printer, the ''in use/memory'' light blinks and clicks. My computer doesn't recognize it.

History: Printer was working fine, then my computer got hit with a virus and I had to reformat my drive and reinstall everything. I go thru the printer install process from my CD and when i am suppose to turn it on and plug in the usb port, the computer doesn't see it attached.

fixed it
i went to www.canondv.com go to support and search on USB
i have a dell computer and i changed inside the bios the USB emulation into "no boot" and it worked again

SOURCE: Canon MP780 issue on Mac OS/X

I just noticed that I had the telephone cable connected to the "Telephone" port on the back of the Fax/Printer. When I switched it to the "Line" port, suddenly the clicking stopped and the Memory/In Use light went off. Now we will see if I can Fax something. Hope this works for you too!

Thank you for your promptitude.
Today I solved my problem. Was a cable connection problem. Cable incompatibilit or all 3 cables used before are damaged. Tuday I buy an other new cable and SUCCESS!!!: my computer see de printer ("new hardware found" when attach usb cable) , create virtual usb port, install the drivers (I have the drivers downloaded from the Canon web site) and printer is working fine.
Anyway, thank yow again for your support!

Check your user manual for instructions on how to reset the printer to factory defaults.

try to reinstall the printer driver software. you can download the printer driver software from your printer manufacturer's web site then restart the computer and printer.

Hi there you can try this

Turn off the canon printer

Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click “Power”) an indicator light green.

Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.

Not releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” and release Both Buttons.

Click “Resume” for Four times

Once you click “Power”, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer “Power” button to click again.

5 bk was low. changed it now light does not even come on. alarm light blinking, can't do anything. other inks are good but flashing

are u sure have reset your ink tank.... please go to print properties ->click maintenance->click ink counter reset->check colour box an reset.

E27 means waste ink absorbed is full need to clear out but you still can't print because only 80% or 70% are full.try this method to solve you problem.

Resetting Printer Canon MP140, MP160, MP180, MP210, MP220, MP460, MP470, MP500, MP510, MP530, MP600, MP610, MP800, MP820, MP810, MP830, MP960, MP970 procedure:

•Turn off the canon printer
•Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click “Power”) an indicator light green.
•Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.•Not releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” and release Both Buttons.after that wait the green flash will become light on then.
•Click “Resume” for Four times
•Once you click “Power”, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer “Power” button to click again.

if this ok so u can print or can't. i still suggestion you bring you printer to computer shop for clear out inside spam printer.
