Stopped drying - KitchenAid Dryers

  • Anonymous Feb 03, 2010

Stopped drying or is it taking too long to dry. Is there any heat at all even warm?

There is no heat at all...not even warm and I checked the heating element coils and they appear o.k. The unit is a Sears Kenmore Elite

I have completely cleaned the dryer vent and checked the circuit breaker and all is well. Everything is working but just no heat period. Unfortunately, I have no circuit tester probes to check for electrical continuity. Could it possibly be the Thermal Cut-Off or Thermostat switch?

Check the thermal cutoff located on the side of your heater cannister. This is usually the problem. Hope this helps.

My Dryer won't stop drying until I open the door.

If it does this in a Timed Dry setting the timer is bad. If it does this in an Auto dry setting it could be a bad moisture sensor or a bad timer.

Kenmore 11066912690 dryer stops working

if you are using the sensor drying cyle this could cause the unit to stop. it will detect the most dry clothing first usually light clothes that dry faster.if not and you are useing timed dry the most likely cause is a faluty timer,or a thermostat sesnor is going bad and turnoing off the dryer before the clothes are dry
