HP LaserJet 1020 Printer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Feb 02, 2010

I haven't used this printer for about 2 years. It was stored in a room that was not air conditioned. I recently dusted it off and it fell on a carpeted floor. I plugged it in and hooked it up to my computer. The printer prints, but it is only printing blank pages. I removed the Q2612A toner cartridge and it still seems heavy. I shook it up and put it back in, now the printer is outputting sheets with just smears of toner? Do you think the printer is broken? Or do you think I just need some new toner?

Update: I bought the new toner cartridge and nada. The printer must have gotten damaged in the little spill it took. I'm bummed to say the least, because it was such a good printer...until I dropped it accidentally.

It will just need a new cartridge, very little goes wrong with these units beside the print cartridge and 99.9% of image related issues are with this toner/drum cartridge. The drum within the cartridge is light sensitive and can become overexposed when left for long periods and or the toner can get clumpy and damp in it (blank), the rubber cleaning blade in the same cartridge that wipes the drum can also deteroate (smears)..

The only way to test for sure is with another HP Q2612A but I cant think of anything else that would be more likely the issue you are seeing

Testimonial: "Naturally, this is the answer I wanted to hear! I'm off to buy a new cartridge. Thanks!!!"

The printer might need a new imaging drum/fuser in addition to a new toner cartridge. Given the cost of those, it may end up being cheaper in the long run to buy a new laser printer.

If must air condition in Xerox 7345 color printer

Hi Ravi,
I don't understand your question.
Xerox printers are quite forgiving regarding air conditioning. However they do use very hot running fuser systems which will make the local room conditions even hotter and more uncomfortable than they perhaps are at the moment. Please check on the Xerox.com website for more explicit environmental conditions for your country and room conditions.
Good Luck.

My Dell 3115cn MFP prints 3 blank pages between prints or copies if I print more than 1 copy how do I fix this? What is causing it?

I will do first a full printer cleaning, that mean take off all dust and anything can that can be inside the printer (ex.bugs and dirt accumulation).
Second try to locate the printer rollers and check if they are in good condition.Printer rollers need to be in good condition because those are the parts that move the paper inside the printer.
Also when you feed the papers into the feeder make sure you air the paper so they don,t stick together.

HOW TO USE

Hello,

follow the instructions below on how to use your dehumidifier:

Prepare the room for the dehumidifier by vacuuming, dusting and cleaning the room. Be especially careful to have all mold removed prior to using the dehumidifier.
Plug in the dehumidifier into a grounded outlet.
Set the dehumidifier to high in order to remove excess moisture from the room.
Wait for the dehumidifier to run several cycles, removing all undesired moisture from the air. This may take days or even weeks in especially damp rooms.
Adjust the setting of the dehumidifier when the air has reached your desired comfort level. Make the setting one that will maintain the current conditions.
Good luck.

Air condition cleaning

hi! there,
if your unit is almost five years from now,its more convenient to have a maintenance schedule every two to three time a year,if this a windows type, cleaning of ac unit mostly the eveporator and condenser should free from dust, upon installing, the a/c unit should be eleveted down on condenser, the tray should have a drain with hose to drip the water outside your room,so that water will not leak on your light, see this may cause electrical fault resulted on burning.have always clean the filter.try to inform the maintenance crew to elevate the condenser portion down gradually so that water will drip outside the room.have anice day, don't forget get to rate me,and thank's a lot.

Fell in water tank

If you can remove or disconnect the battery and let your ipod dry inside an air conditioned room for a week then if it will work you are lucky enough.

Once it is wet water will cause somewhat of a short circuit but if you were able to remove the power from the gadget sooner you might be able to save it. Good luck!

Fan is continually running

Some are controlled by a thermostat. It could be the thermostat isn't working. It also depends on what the temperature of the room is that you have it in. If the room doesn't have air conditioning, chances are it needs the fan.

One way to try to cut the noise is try to clean the dust out of the fans and power supply by taking and air compressor or using some canned air. You should be very care when using the air compressor to make sure that you don't knock off any components.

Insect your fans and power supply. There are less noiser ones you can find at a computer store for a reasonable price. It could be the bearings are bad on a fan as well. If you replace it, the noise will go away.

Good luck on that.
