Samsung DLP 56" tv,distorted picture

I purchased a Samsung DLP 56" tv four years ago. worked well until recently when the picture became destorted; colour and clarity. if i turn the set off for 5-10 minutes the picture returns to normal for an hour or so then becomes distorted again. Audio is fine. no noise from the tv when problem occurs. interested in any thoughts.Thank you.

Samsung HL-S5087W DLP picture is distorted

If the picture is distorted it probably needs reapir. I recommend doing a little research to find a reputable reapir shop. You can ask where you bought it or where they sell TV's. If you get two answers the same it might be worth talking to them for pricing.

DLP 61 inch Samsung Television

Did the technician replace the thermal sensors too? I think there are a few, one is in the color wheel cover. I'd suspect that it could take 40 min. to heat a faulty sensor to the trip point, and that this could make the TV turn the lamp off.
