Can't open my foodsaver 3825 for cleaning. I push on the green buttons but it seems as if another part inside the machine is preventing me from opening the unit.
I had the same problem and got this information from Foodsaver:
Turn Foodsaver unbit on and press the cabncel button. That should release the unit for cleaning.

You just saved my Food Saver V3840 from landing across the house on the floor after bouncing and scattering it pieces all around ... SHEW! Been standing here for a hour trying to figure out what I did to make it mad at me and refuse to tilt when I pressed the green buttons!

I'm glad I came across this post because I struggled with this for over an hour last night until finally giving up. Today I decided to check the Internet for any suggestion. My Model V3880 was locked closed and would shut off as soon as I turned it on. Had to be fast but I hit the cancel button once, nothing then tried the seal button and the machine began to vacuum seal at which time hitting the cancel button freed up the machine allowing it to be opened.
