The lid will not lock on my Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW1 Top Load washer. I have unplugged the washer to have computer reset. Cleared any obstructions. When power is off, it still clicks like it is trying to lock, even with lid open.

you need to replace the lid lock. the latch probably broke in 2, and the broken part is whats keeping the lid closed. if you have clothes inside you can open the top by using a putty knife to release the front clips holding the top of the machine down. push each clip in and lift up. you will also be able to access the lid lock this way.
The computer does not recognize the lid has locked if it has. If the lid is not actually locking, the motor in the actuator is most likely culprit. You may contact me for more info.
I have a call with the same problem. Pumps all the water out but still flashes LD. Should be the board, The electronic pressure switch is built in to the board. Make sure the pressure chamber on the back right side is not cloged
If unplugging the washer for a few minutes does not reset the main control then the electronic control board is likely shot but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance.
the door lock switch has a solenoid lock to keep the door closed during cycles. if you tried to open the lid during a cycle then you may have damaged the lock and it should be replaced first. if you still have troubles after that, then the control board may have an internal failure. the lid switch costs about 30-40 bucks compared to 120-150 bucks for a board. try the lid switch first. there is a test cycle you can run to check the lid lock if you want to do that also. but by starting a cycle it will do the same thing.
