More than likely the scanner settings in the software are set differently. Check to see if the slow PC has the scanner settings set to page orientation>"text orientation". If it is, then you can change it to 90 degrees or 0 degrees for a significant performance increase. The onboard memory for the DR-7580 is insufficient to run at full rated speed while performing "text orientation".

Your hard disk must be almost full. Direct the scanning software to send data to a hard Disk location where you have enough space.

On second thoughts, try and save in TIFF or JPG format. These file sizes are small. If by chance you had chosen BMP, it occupies more size, eating into your drive space.

Scanning half a page

You will need to check your page settings. As each program is different, the page setup will generally stay the same. It will also change if you are scanning at 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees as well.

When I'm scanning a document on Canon 7580 each page will show up on my computer screen with a slighly different margin (keeps shifting left to right). The document is being fed into the scanner...

Under CapturePerfect3, you can choose to deskew the scanned image while scanning itself. Also select 'Image only" radio button instead of 'Guide Plate'. The software will remove black borders around the image.

My Canon DR 7580 has image void in the front image. Looks like two void columns. The Image reader is clean. Can the upper and lower imager be swapped to see if the problem is the upper imager?

You cannot swap upper and lower images. You can scan the page twice (in duplex mode) by reversing the same. Ensure which side is giving perfect output.
DR 7580 is a CONTACT scanner and hence the paper has to touch the glass surface properly. There are two full sized rollers, just above/below the scanning module, which does this job. Ensure that they are proper and there is enough pressure, press and release 3-4 times to check it is stuck.

Canon dr 7580 is not scanning multiple pages.

Check if you have selected 'multipage' option. Then you will get only a single file, but with multiple pages.
If your question is that the second or subsequent pages are not pulled in for scanning, then you need to change the rubber rollers.

Transfer scan settings from one computer to another?

You need to do it only once! Capture perfect remembers the previous setting. If you install Capture perfect in another system it will be only in the defalut mode. You cannot transfer the settings

DR-7580

About 99% of the time, there is something stuck on the lens. Our clients that use these are hard to convince of this, but often if you take a small flashlight, you can either find something stuck on one of the lenses or there's a scratch on one. If it's scratched, you're out of luck and will have to replace it. Otherwise, use a light alcohol based pad and clean with it wrapped around your fingernail. Kodak scanner cleaning supplies work great.

Imprinter won't work on DR-7580/9080C

I have the same model Canon DR-9080C scanner which I recently acquired and I'm trying to figure out how used it is. I see many referrign to a counter. I see the big LCD on top front, but how do you know how many total pages have been scanned through it? I read somewhere there is a mechanical scanner. Is this true?
