How to replace ink cartridge

I hope you already got your cartridge replaced. If not, here's a link to the Lexmark website on How to Install the Cartridges in the Lexmark X5150. This also applies on replacing cartridges. http://bit.ly/akqijS. Follow the instructions.
In some cases, the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the white tape in the middle inside the printer. The other end of it is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Hope this helps.

I can't figure out how to replace the ink cartridge. How do you remove the old ink cartridge and put in a new one?

Here's an article in the Lexmark website that will guide you on how to replace the ink cartridges on your Lexmark X5150 printer. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/bKZ15F. Follow the instructions carefully. By the way, in some cases, the ink cartridge carrier doesn't move in the loading position even when the printer is on when you lift the scanner unit open. If that happens, unplug the printer from the power source. With the scanner unit open, hold the solid white tape you see in the printer. Slowly slide the cartridge carrier to the center for easy access. Replace the cartridges. Close the cover, close the scanner unit. Plug the printer back to the power source. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, just place a comment so I can get back to it.

Cartridge Error message on our Lexmark X5150

The Lexmark machines are designed to kick out anything it suspects may be refilled. If your old cartridge has bad print nozzles this may be tripping the error. Printers are typically for sensitive with their color cartridges anyway because the manufacturers make more money on the color ones. You can try looking around the settings on the machine and in the printer preferences to see if you can tell it to ignore the ink levels and see if you can continue to print.

I have a lenmarx x5150 printer and have no manual with instructions. How do I use it and replace ink?

  • Press the "Power" button to turn on your Lexmark

  • Step 3 Lift the gray plastic cover on the left. Remove the empty black ink cartridge. Next, lift the purple plastic cover on the right and remove the empty color ink cartridge.
  • Step 4 Remove the new black ink refill cartridge from its packaging. Tear the protective strip of paper from the cartridge's sensor. Now, remove the new color ink refill cartridge from its packaging and tear the protective strip of paper from the cartridge's sensor.
  • Step 5 Turn the cartridges so that you can read the label. This is the way the cartridges should face when being put into the printer.
  • Step 6 Slide the black cartridge into the slot on the left side and push it down. Slide the color cartridge into the slot on the right side and push down.
  • Step 7 Push the gray plastic cover down over the cartridge until it clicks closed. Push the purple plastic cover down over the cartridge until it clicks closed.
  • Step 8 Close the top portion of the printer. Your new ink cartridges are installed, and your printer is ready to use.

Unlock scanner keeps appearing on my lexmark x85 printer

Go to the Lexmark web site here: http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0
- In the SEARCH BY MODEL box, type in X85 and click SEARCH
- In the SEARCH THE KNOWLEDGBASE box, type in UNLOCK SCANNER. It will show some instructions for the X83, but that was the little brother of the X85, so should work.

Hardware error o504

It shows color cartridge is missing because either the cartridge is not well placed or it is not there.

When you try to run the Clean option from the Ink Cartridge menu, the following message may appear: Hardware Error 0504.

To resolve this issue:
  1. Take both cartridges out of the printer.
  2. Switch off the printer using the power button.
  3. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the Lexmark X5150.
  4. Leave the power cable disconnected for 30 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cable and switch the printer on again.
  6. Reinstall the cartridges. (Follow the instructions on the LCD screen or refer to the following document: How to Install the Cartridges in the Lexmark X5150)
