It sounds like something has fallen or crawled into your tv. Unplug unit and remove the panel on the rear bottom. Now remove the upper part of the rear cabinet if you cannot see the problem. You will probably find something on the lense blocking the light. This would be a good time to clean the lenses. Using a soft cloth and windex, spray the cloth then gently clean each lense using a circular motion. Do not wipe until dry as you may scratch the lense. Do not spray the lense as you will cover critical components with corrosive cleaner. Do not push hard or disturb any lense adjustments. Reassemble unit and your tv should look as good as new. Let me know how this works out. [email protected] .

Black marks on screen

my lamp problems usually start with red shades in bottom corners - red, black - same issue I think.
check your hours of filter (and clean) - clean inside your housing as helps and check lamp hours - you usually get 1500 to 3000 hours (check your user guide for lamp hours)
try and live with problem until you need new bulb as not cheap

good luck

I just replaced the color wheel on my samsung hln5065w. Picture is great but there is a shadow on the right side of screen from top to bottom. The shadow on the top of the screen is wider across the screen...

Its a Good Possibilty that its the New Color Wheel causing this,if the colors are not complete on the color wheel then that will be why you are seeing shadow on right hand side of screen.
I know I ordered color wheel for mine and had to send it back,it did the same thing.
I compared it to the old color wheel and the new one did not have Solid colors on it.

Can you see picture behind the shadow? or is it shadow and no picture?

Shadows in top right and left hand corner of picture

If you know what you're doing - why not. Most probably something has got loose inside the lens and needs to be fixed.
