HP Pavillion won't bring monitor back from sleep mode

HP Pavillion PC was in hibernate mode overnight. When hubby tried to wake it up with the mouse/keyboard, nothing happened. So, he held down the power button and the PC shut down. When he turned back on monitor said "no input signal" and went back to sleep. Have done hard reset on PC and disconnected monitor, mouse and keyboard, which got the keyboard responding again (number lock light came back up), but did not work for monitor. Any ideas?

Hi...if u can read " no input signal" from ur screen, this means that ur monitor is ok..
Look if u have power buttons on ur keyboard.. try to wake it from there.. some pc may have shortcut keys to bring back the pc... look @ ur pc docs on the internet for more info...
However if it's a hardware issue, it may be that ur RAM memory needs to be cleaned

It's the nature of sleep / hibernation mode. Try removing hibernation and set to home / office. It's like we want use this option, but MS and hardware never really sync. What I'm trying to say, it never seems to work as it should.

You should be able to just press the main system unit power button to wake up your 'sleeping' computer which will then resume your Windows desktop and bring you back to the Login panel if you have a password set for your account.

HP f2105 monitor going into sleep mode on it's own

Does it do the same when you use this monitor with other PC, new VGA cable, just need to narrow down the problem first before start taking the monitor apart.

HP Pavillion dv6000 Vista notebook crashes when entering sleep mode

This is a common problem with HP Pavilion laptops, including mine. Check and make sure there are no non-OS programs running that are trying to control power settings (like a power monitor program running in the system/task tray) and then turning of hibernation in the POWER SETTINGS and then for all "WHEN I CLOSE LID" and "WHEN I PUSH THE SLEEP BUTTON" and "WHEN I PUSH THE POWER BUTTON" select DO NOTHING, then APPLY. Then SAVE SCHEME AS and choose any new name. This will disable all sleep modes forever, but at least you can get on with normal use.

If you are geeky, try going into the BIOS and DISABLING anything marked WAKE ON, and disabling anything having to do with automatic power features, and then try hibernating and so forth normally through the OS again. Sometimes this works if there are conflicting settings in the BIOS also trying to increase power efficiency.

Good luck...

When I select sleep or hibernate mode - the monitor stays black...

Hit the keyboard keys. It is better to just turn sleep and hibernate off and just use a screen saver or tun it off.
