My Canon powershot G9 rechargeable lithium battery build in

My Canon Powershot G9 rechargeable lithium battery that is built into the camera ( not the battery pack) is not recharging and it is emptying my battery pack NB-2LH very quickly even without using my camera. I always have to set the date/hour up.Example: If I keep a full charged battery pack on a table and I test it many days after, it is still full charge. If I put the same battery in my camera, 2-3 days after my battery is half charged and this without using the camera (camera off).

It sounds more like the camera has a short which is what would more commonly drain a battery. There's a common issue as you're describing on the G9 for this exact issue. Try this site: www.camerasandparts.com They only deal with service for the canon powershots and they are quite familiar with the problem you are experiencing. I'm sure they can help you with this problem.

I would predict a short in the camera, the next thing is you may get no power. Go to this site www.camerasandparts.com and email them. They'd be the ones to help with that, they're experts on these Canon cameras and their not much at all if it needs to get fixed. Good luck with it.

Is there a lithium-ion battery for Canon Powershot a570?

No. You can use disposable alkaline or lithium batteries, or rechargeable NiMH batteries, but AFAIK there are no rechargeable Li-ion batteries in that size.

Somebody was using my canon powershot g9 and when they gave it back to me the lens was out and it was dead. Ive tried everything from charging the batteries and everything nothing is working. Please help!

Camera likely has a common short that comes up on the G9 camera. You just need to get the camera serviced and you'll be back in business again. The site that specializes in service for the powershots is: camerasandparts.com They're amazing if you need help with one of these, that's all they deal with. The good thing with them is they do the correction so that common short never comes back again on the G9. Good luck, that's the place if you need help with a powershot model, they're excellent when it comes to service for these.

Canon Powershot A470 - asks to 'change battery' every time it is turned on, then turns off immediately. This is so even when new, fully charged batteries (different brands, rechargeable, non-rechargeable)...

This happened with my Canon Powershot A470. I sent it back to he manufacturer and they said I was using the wrong batteries. Even though the camera is supplied with two alkaline batteries, they recommend using AA NimH rechargable batteries.

Hi I have just put brand new batteries in my canon powershot A560 and having taken approx 4 or 5 photos it is now telling me that my batteries need changing. The low battery symbol is also on alot of the...

Make sure that you use the correct type of batteries some cameras prefer Alkaline or Zinc Carbon both at v1.5 some only can take 3 rechargeable Nickel Cadmium (Nicad) Cells at 1.3V (3x1.5v= 3.9V) or one Lithium Ion at 3.6V

Be careful if you put a 1.3V NiCad Rechargeable in a camera that was designed for 1.5 Alkaline it can damage the camera and you may experience similar problems to that you have now.

Always check that you are using the recommended batteries, this is why most manufactures supply there own Lithium Ion 3.6V rechargeable K type cells to avoid this type of problem.

Can I export photos from iPhoto back into the Canon G9 PowerShot?

No, you can't.
You only can transfer the pictures back to the camera if the pictures were taken by the same model cameras, plus the pictures were not modified.

My Cannon G9 digital camera wont power up even though I have a fully charged battery?

This is usually from a loose screw inside the camera, a screw inside the camera can come loose and cause a short which is very common on the G9. If you go to: www.camerasandparts.com all they deal with is service for the Canon Powershots. They're great if you need a hand with one of these and they automatically do the no power correction on the G7's and the G9's they service which is nice. They are about the least expensive out there at $89 and they include the service and the shipping back. The best part, they do excellent work which is a must for me. Hope that helps you some.
