I have an Infinity PS12 Subwoofer that is clicking in and out of standby after it warms up. I am running it in the inputs that take the line-level inputs and have the LFE turned about half-way up. Any ideas of what I could check?

Unfortunately your subwoofers amplifier circuitry will need to be repaired ,the amplifier is bad and kicking in to protect mode. This mode is designed for safety of the unit and user and sub should not be operated until repaired as it may incur more damage to the components. I hope this

I've got the same problem with my PS-10 from Infinity. It works great for about 30-45 minutes, then click in and out of standby mode. It sounds to me like a overheating safety fault. When I take off the amp panel (unplugged), it feels quite warm, and you can see that there is really no way for heat the escape. I tried running it briefly with the amp panel outside and it seemed to work fine! Since I'm out of warranty, I think I'll try cutting some ventilation holes. I noted there are 2 oval shaped holes near the bottom (just above amp), but covered with the panel sticker. I'll try cutting those open first.
Same problem-I had my PS-12 repaired about 1 year ago under warranty. Problem was identified as- repaired power supply by replacing two capacitors. There was sign of circuit overheating. Problem has reoccured. Looking for larger voltage capacitors to R/R. My assumption, great speaker but bad design by Infinity. I need schamatic to have better idea for repairs, could be something else burning the caps. Any ideas!
I have cut-out the label over the two holes and glued some thin foam rubber over them to keep the dust out. I also drilled some 1/4 inch holes along the edge and top of the plastic cover. This helped cool the power supply and after I replaced a burned capacitor, it worked for a while longer but I think there may be a weak transistor the drops out when hot.

I'm assuming your amp for testing was NOT a subwoofer output. I could be wrong.
Your source is responsible for creating LFE output. Are you sure it's doing that?
Tune an FM station and connect any other active RCA output from the source (like a Tape Out) to the sub

I have a similar problem. The sound coming from my PS-12 is very quiet during movies or TV. It actually seems to work right away and fade quickly. I too have mine hooked up into the LFE port. When I run a "test tone" from my receiver each speaker outputs white noise, along with the sub. (although it is much lower and quieter, but I assume that is typical)
My PS-12 also "chirps" at me occasionally. It seems to happen when it recognizes audio input. Normal? I may have to call Infinity.
I have the problem exactly as stated, after it warms up it clicks on and off, forgot where I bought on line, looking for someone to repair.
I have the same problem, the speaker is clicking on and off and nothing appears to rectify (unplug, cycle power switch, clean terminals, let it cool down). I bought the sub from ultimate electronics without extended warranty and don't know who to take it to for diagnosis. Sad thing is the unit is only about a year and a half old.
