With the Cuisinart it says only to use veggie oil or canola. Never use olive oil or any other kind. You will need only two teaspoons. Take off the red bowl cover when making it as well, I only use premium popcorn kernels as well. I love it...makes great popcorn everytime with very few kernels left unpopped...

I have tried both Mazola Corn Oil, and Orville Redenbacher's Popping Oil, and they both came out about the same. As long as no one sticks their face near the top of the popcorn maker while it is popping, you could try removing the plastic cover to the popping bowl while it is popping - this will allow moist steam to escape, which will make the popcorn somewhat dryer. For me, this popcorn maker pops perfectly to suit my tastes, but I spoke to a lady once that used to operate a popcorn maker at a carnival, and she just wasn't satisfied with the Cuisinart. Different strokes.

It souds as if you are using too much oil. Als I personally prefer peanut oil or canola oil.

Cuisinart makes fresh, crunchy, homemade popcorn fast, easy¿.and healthy! The Cuisinart Popcorn Maker pops up to 10 cups of popcorn in under 5 minutes, and lets popcorn lovers decide just how much, and what kind, of popcorn, oil and flavoring to use. Popcorn pops right into a clear plastic bowl that flips to serve, and both bowl and poping plate go into the dishwasher.

Can I use oil in hot air popcorn popper to better taste

No, oil and butter should not be used in the popcorn maker. You can melt some butter or buy a flavored oil to drizzle on top once the popcorn is done and in a bowl. But nothing should go inside the maker except popcorn kernels.

Butter in well

Pop your corn outside until the oil burns away. Then keep butter away from the popper or below it.

NEED AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR ''OLD FASHIONED MOVIE TIME POPCORN

The usual way to use a pop corn popper is to:
1st - add oil
2nd - add popcorn
3rd - add any seasoning (if using the pre-packaged "theater" popcorn mix).

DO NOT add butter into the popper, as it will burn quickly and make for some foul tasting pop corn.

You can always add butter and salt to taste AFTER the pop corn is done popping.

Hope you find this Very Helpful. Best regards!

Cuisinart popcorn popper directions

If you are using the Cuisinart pop corn poppper, don't use olive oil. Use vegetable oil. Two teaspoons is enough with 1/3 cup of premium kernels. That is it. Turn on the machine and wait til it stops popping. I LOVE my new pop corn popper. I will not do the hot air one again. I always had kernels flying all over my kitchen and popped popcorn everywhere, The Cuisinart popper is the best....
