Hello. This sounds like you have a failed ccd sensor which sometimes happens on digital cameras. There's an excellent site that only specializes in problems on the Canon Powershot cameras. If you go to: camerasandparts.com they have your problem posted right on their site. Their wonderful if you need help with a Powershot, that should get you taken care of for this problem. They actually have this S2IS problem right on their site. I hope that helps you with the problem.

Camera turns "on", can read menus, etc, but, there is no image on LCD screen?

On page 8 of the basic operate manual you see the backside of the camera and there you find the display button. Try pressing that one several times, while in recording mode.

Please make sure no cable is attached to the camera. On many Nikon cameras, connecting a cable shuts down the screen.

Fuji finepix a600

If the camera was on when it was dropped you probably jamed the lense coil. The lense coil is what helps the camera smoothly pull in the lense and back out. Now, just to specify, what exactly are you having a problem with? Will the actual lense not go back into the camera when you turn it off; or can you not get your camera off zoom?

Sony Cyber-shot Error Code E:61:00

Hi,

you may have these symptoms,
Symptoms :
  1. After pressing the power button in capture mode, the lens would extend and a slight humming from what appeared to be the auto focus motor could be heard for about 5 seconds. When the motor stopped humming, the camera would beep and display E:61:00 in the LCD Screen.
  2. Camera would extend the lens but not be able to focus on anything past 8 inches or so.
  3. Zoom in and zoom out would not work.
  4. Playback mode and the Setup mode was not affected.

To fix this problem,

Do these...

A) Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface.
B) Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time.

If that doesnt fix it, try this:
A) Turn it on and let the lense go out fully
B) See where the lens comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!)

Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed!

If not, try these steps a few more times. If still nothing, then I suggest you to call Sony, but this DID work for 90%, so hopefully it''ll work for you :)

Thanx for using fixya,
Cheers.
