SOMETIMES FILES GET CORRUPTED DURING A DOWNLOAD. GO TO CONTROL PANEL, ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS AND REMOVE YAHOO MESSENGER. REBOOT YOUR MACHINE. DOWNLOAD YAHOO MESSENGER FROM ANOTHER SITE AND INSTALL. THIS SHOULD FIX YOUR PROBLEM.

I think this is problem of Virus called torjan, Just run you antivirus & scan whole PC. Clean temporary internet files & other unwanted files from PC. Delete your Previous Chat & other History related with Yahoo Messenger. Then uninstall yahoo messenger. Don't forget to clean your PC.
Then Go to yahoo.com & Download latest updated version of yahoo messenger & install it on your PC. & Now i hope your problem will fixed 100% guarantied.
can you try installing a different version of yahoo messenger? preferably the latest version. I dont think theres a virus in it but i think there are some corrupted files on your yahoo messenger that made it to shut down improperly.

You need to reinstall the yahoo messenger then it will work...
This is again a registry problem. You need to again reinstall the Yahoo Messenger. One of the files that are needed to access Yahoo Messenger had either Deleted or Corrupted. There might be many reasons for the same.
After Uninstalling Yahoo Messenger, run an Anti Virus. If you have any registry clean software, you could use that. Also, clear all the cache and cookies.
Go to add/remove programs and remove any and all versions of Yahoo Chat. Then download the latest version again and make sure you have the latest update for Java Script also
