It needs a fan motor.
I would also order a new fan blade for it - they often get bent during cleaning and a bent blade will cause an off-balance problem that wears out the little bushings in the motor.
Apparently the grandsons action jut bent possible one of the blades. The blades need to come off the motor shaft in order to make them all the same pitch. If the blades are not able to be all placed in the same configuration, order new blades. The fan case and motor are fine, just order the blades from the parts list for that fan using the model number of the unit. Put them on and you'll sleep without a clunking sound in your room.
I have/had the same 16' fan HF-1663. The same situation occurred with my fan and it was only 2 months old. No other out-let allowed it to work. Now I just ordered the 16' F-1660 fan. Hope this one will not be so crummy!
Please suggest where I can buy a new blade for 16' airworks pedestal oscillating fan?
Thanks... VladF

I tried every link and selection on the WeatherWorks website in an attempt to find product information, but that was a waste of time. It's the least-friendly and least-useable website I've ever seen.
For a replacement fan blade try contacting this aftermarket parts supply company (below). They seem to have every type of fan-blade imaginable:
Electric Trading Co.

(Although, to be honest, I think it wound be cheaper to buy a whole new window fan...)
