Hi, on my camera Canon SD750, these instructions did not work as the date stamp was still in"inactive" mode, but it worked on "Post card 1600x1200", hope this helps the rest of people.

I called canon and they said that on cameras like mine, powershot SD 750, you can only put date stamp on postcard but the new canons can have the date stamp on all camra settings including the auto setting

SOURCE: how do you turn on

On my Canon this function is only available when the camera's resolution/format is set to Postcard.

How do I turn the date stamp on canon ixus 75 ? want the date printed on front of my pics.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

I need to get the date on the actual picture and when I scroll to date stamp it jumps over it and won't let me set it.

In order to turn on the date stamp, the camera needs to be in 'postcard' on the resolution setting. Press the Func/Set button, scroll down to the resolution (L, M1, M2, M3, S, Postcard), then scroll over to the postcard icon and press the Func/Set button again.

Data stamp

There won't be...you can only get the date on the pic when you use POSTCARD setting.

Another suggestion would be to buy a Selphy printer from canon, and then you can select to have the date on the print.

Date stamp

To get the date/time to be on your photos while taking the picture so you don't have to use the software later do this:

When in the mode to take pictures, press the round "Function Set" button and change the recording pixels to "Postcard 1600 X 1200". "Postcard" is the only setting that will allow the time/date stamp to be recorded on the picture.

Then press the "Menu" button and scroll down to "Date Stamp". You can select "Date", "Date & Time" or "Off". You can only do this when your pictures are set to the "Postcard" mode.
