I had my phone in my purse and a water bottle opened up and spilled all over. My phone was able to turn on but the touch screen did not work at all it just beeped.
To fix it all I did was got an eye glass repair screwdriver that you can get at any Walgreens or CVS for around $2. I unscrewed the back screws (there's 5) and took off the top back panel, blow dried it on very low heat for a while and let it sit over night with out the cover. In the morning it worked like new.
Hope this helps.
You all have to open the phone up, and dry the electronics completely, often with submersion, water seeps into crevices, and WILL NOT DRY. The best way to dry the phone is to clean it with distilled water, then place it in an oven set to approximately forty degrees celcius for about four hours, then letting it cool off overnight in a very dry environment. Taking the case off will void the warranty. Its best if you have a professional do it.
In some cases the boot memory (the programs that start your phone) will be damaged, this is unrepairable except by an expert. You won't know if its damaged until you try to turn the thing on again.
You must ensure that you are carrying no static charge at any time, by ensuring you are properly earthed. Static WILL damage delicate circuitry.
Your battery, is most likely cactus.

I have the same problem with my phone. I don't know about eating it though.
When opened up it seems like there are some mineral deposits on different contacts inside the phone. Mine also has a blown transistor also. If I could find a schematic and parts list, I would replace the blown transistor ans clean up the mineral deposits with alcohol. It might work then. If anyone can find these items let me know where
I have a phone that got wet, not totally submerged though and was able to get it working again. I took the phone apart and using alcohol cleaned anything that looked like it could be corroded. Keem in mind that the circuit board is extremely delicate and unless you are accustomed to working with electronics I would stay away from touching the board. I would keep it away from the heater, blow dryer is okay. The most important thing is to take it apart to allow the nooks and crannies to dry out. I have had friends do that and only that and got them working again. Get the phone apart and blow dry, let sit, blow dry, let sit etc... Do this for several days to a week and then, only then give it another try. If you didn't fry anything already this might work.
I washed my enV in the washer and at first it worked great except the call button wouldnt work. Now the front screen wont work and my vibrate is louder than my ringtones, so I took a Qtip and a bleach pen and bleached the little red circle back to white and turned it into warrenty.
Ur all fucked basicaly .... my phone is ontop of my radiator after being dropped in snow :/ smart i no well were all fucked jus try n dry or do whatever you can to save it wish me luck

my phone wont work after going through the washing machine it worked afterwards but not now
My phone was dropped in a bathtub filled with water.
it was completely submerged for at least 5 seconds and the red dot came up inside my phone.
its been about a week. i took the battery out stright away, and started blow drying my phone.
the battery is totally screwed. so i bought a new battery.
Now the phone will turn on, and after like 30 seconds, it will turn off by itself.
i have blow dried it, put it in my dryer for clothes, and have put it on my heater. it seems to turn on for a longer time each time.
but im afraid my phone is just completely doomed.
is there anything more i can do?
well.. i dropped my LG enV in the sink full of water and i think there is water behind the screen, and it wont turn on anymore, but i didnt buy this phone, my dads friend gave it to me, so its used and i dont know if they would still replace it.
