Canon Pixma MX700:one print cartridge not working

Canon Pixma MX700:one print head--the magenta one--not printing. Have replaced it two times with new ones and it doesn't say that it's NOT there, but doesn't deliver any ink. Have tried "cleaning" under maintenance. It's like the print cartridge is just not getting a signal to fire away...

The cartridge is only a tank that holds ink. The printhead is the device that you put it into and probably has a blockage in the magenta head. Open the machine so the carriage moves to the center. remove all the cartridges.
TCT How to remove and clean Canon Printhead see the link below. The MX700 may have the locking mechanism at the front of the carriage, so you should move it slightly right and then pull the colour bar forward to release the printhead. carefully remove the printhead. Sit it in a shallow dish/tray of hot water for a few minutes and dry with a paper towel. Put it back in the printer reset the locking bar and cartridges. Try a nozzle check through the tools menu. Yoyu may need to repeat the process if the magenta printhead is badly blocked

SOURCE: Color ink cartridge does not print in full colors

Canon printers do not like the refilled ink cartridges. After having ruined a few printers trying to "save" money. I went back to genuine Canon ink and have never had a problem since.

SOURCE: how to refill pixma mx700 magenta ink tank without

The colors are individual. That machine takes the Canon CLI-8. I would suggest reading your manual on what the procedure is for changing the ink cartridges out, it typically varies slightly by machine. There should be an option somewhere one of the menus to change the ink cartridges. When you buy a replacement be sure you buy from someone who isn't trying to scam you. I would recommend Cartridge World, of course, or OEM. Do not use cheap online cartridges, you will only have headache later.

SOURCE: Canon Pixma yellow color problem

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

Replace pixma printhead

Print heads on this model run about $80 on ebay. Your best bet is to first replace the magenta cartridge even though it may appear to still have ink in it. After that, go into the maintenance menu and run a full cleaning cycle several times. This may clear your clogged print head.

Canon PIXMA iP3000. I have completed a nozzle check, but have odd results... BLACK-Perfect CYAN-4 EQUALLY SPACED WHITE LINES...NO DROP OUTS PALE CYAN-PERFECT MAGENTA- 4 EQUALLY SPACED WHITE LINES...NO DROP...

Inkjet printers do not like being left unused for long periods.
Some of the color print head may be blocked. Try several deep cleaning of the print head to see if it can clear the blocked print nozzles.
If none of this works then the print head needs to be replaced.
A new cartridge will not solve this problem.
NOTE the print head is not a cheap item, you may consider putting the money towards a new and better printer.

My canon pixma 210

You will need to use your printers maintenance setting to clean the heads. Find your printer in Control Panel/Printers then right click on it and select properties. Select the maintenance tab and then select clean print head. You may need to do this a few times

Canon pixma ip4300 - magenta ink is recognized but not printing

Take the print head out of the machine and sit it in a saucer of very hot ( just off boil) water about 10mm deep for a minute. Take it out and sit in on a pad of paper towel to dry briefly before returning it and the cartridges into the machine. Give it a deep clean and try again. If still no good, the print head has probably had it.

Canon MX700 with new cyan cartridge very faint

The print head needs a chemical solution. You have to soak it to chemical solution to unclog it. It should be a chemical solution that is really use for print head. If it does not work, the worse thing to do is to buy a new print head.

MAGENTA NOT PRINTING

The other week I had the black print head clog up, requiring daily nozzle deep cleaning [a normal 'ocassional' maintenance function]. Thought I needed a new Print head, so anything worth a try.
I loaded up an old black cartridge [I load all my own......always have] with Isopropyl Alcohol and ran deep clean on that cartridge a couple of times, then repeat printed [6 times] a page full of the number 8 in about half inch character size, to get the alcohol through the nozzles. then Deep cleaned again 3 times, to wash it through the print head.

I reloaded the normal ink filled cartridge and ran the '8' page again till I got good black output. It has now been working without problem, daily, for over a week. Clearly if it's a Magenta only problem, the cleaning as described above would be a bit different, as the magenta is one of 4 colour cartridges.
My printer does quite a lot of work, and was bought at least a couple of years ago, being used daily for alpha numeric and photo printing work. This was the first difficulty I experienced with it.
Hope the above might help.Ken
