Sims 3 i bought the sims 3 world adventures, it tells me to change the regional code, the sims 3 was made in the usa, sims 3 world adventures was made in europe, so i don't know how to change the regional code for mac

Did you purchase this expansion or download from a torrent site?

Contact there support staff at http://support.direct2drive.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=3091 and tell them that the access code they gave you don't work.

go to the application> show package content> content> resources> transgaming> c-drive> program files> electronic arts> the sims 3> game> Bin> Then open Default.ini with text edit. Scroll all the way down to the bottom where it says GameVersion = 1.8.25.003001 change the end one to 2 or whatever works for you like this GameVersion = 1.8.25.003002 then close and save. And that's it.

I got this off another site, tried it, and it works! I changed the number to 7, because somebody told me thats a universal number, but it worked for me in Canada. Good luck.

REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0,9 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide




So here we go..

1. Power on
2. Open tray
3. Push the info on remote once (with supplied remote) You will see numbers.
4. Press 9 for multi-region. keep trying until you see the number 9 appear in upper left corner
5. Power off
6. Power on

DVD's are coded to play in different parts of the world. Each DVD player is set up to recognise these codes. Most are set up to recognise only the region code of the area it was made for. For example Region 1 is for the USA and Region 2 is UK and parts of Europe. A DVD player made for the USA market would not be able to play any other discs with a Region code other than 1. And so on... This was done for the film industry benefit so that films can be released at later dates in different parts of the world without everybody seeing it on DVD issued in the USA.
However most DVD players can be "hacked" by a combination of keys allowing the user of say a Region 2 player to change it to another region. Some can also be changed to Region 0 which means it should play any disc.
How to change the Region code can be found by putting the model number of the DVD into a search engine and the words 'region code'. Some can be found on this site too.

To check the software version and change
region code of your DVD Portable

1. Power ON the DVD player and open the DVD
door
2. Press the “SETUP” button on remote control,
then select the “Preference MENU”
3. Press the remote button in the sequence as
9 -> 6 -> 5 -> 3
4. The LCD display showed the existing region
code. Press (navigation up) or
(navigation down) repeatedly to select the
number from 0 to 6.
5. Refer below table for your region code setting

1=USA
2=Europe
3=Asia Pacific
4=Australia, New Zealand
5=Russia, India
6=China

Select “0” setting = Region Free (confidential)
