Call forwarding I need to forward all calls from a landline phone to my cell phone. Function 4 only returns me an "invalid number" error

Call forwarding is NOT a function or feature of the VTech 6041
cordless phones.

It is offered by some telephone service providers, but their
procedures are proprietary and specific to that individual
telephone (service) company -- if they offer it at all.

It's called "call forwarding" and the procedure varies from company to company. With many, dial * 7 2 on your home phone, then at the second dial tone dial your cell phone number. Answer your cell phone when it rings to confirm the call forwarding. To cancel call forwarding when you return from vacation, dial * 7 3 on your home phone.
If the above doesn't work then contact your landline telephone company for their instructions regarding call forwarding.

Cordless phones can not 'forward' a call to an outside line.
Forwarding must be controlled by the ATT, Verizon, or landline provider.
Please contact your provider to determine if you have call forwarding feature built into your service package.

Then, follow the instructions of your landline phone provider.

Activating Call Forwarding
You can activate Call Forwarding whenever you want your calls to be sent to another phone, including a mobile phone. Once activated, all your calls will be sent to the forwarding number you request. Each time a call is forwarded, you will hear one short reminder tone on your home phone, but you will not be able to answer the call from your home number.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.
   
   
2. Press .
   In some areas you must use
   Dial 1172 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.
   
   
3. When you hear the tone, set or change the Call Forwarding number by dialing the telephone number where you want your calls transferred.
   You will hear the number you entered ring. When the number is answered, Call Forwarding is activated.
   
   
4. If the call is not answered or the line is busy, hang up and call the number again within two minutes.
   You will hear two short tones telling you that Call Forwarding is activated.
   
   
5. Hang up the receiver.

I believe your landline carrier just needs to have the capability of call forwarding (ie we utilize Verizon for our business). We also use the call forward feature by: picking up line, (hear dial tone) dial *72 [ then phone number you want calls to forward to, even a cell]. To discontinue: pick up line (hear dial tone) dial *73

If you have call forwarding service, then its done by accessing the line on the phone you want to forward to your cell enter *72 you should get dialtone reordered then enter the number of your cell phone.
You have to answer your cell phone for the forwarding to take place.

You can forward calls from a landline. You will need to see if your landline service includes call forwarding. It's typically a code you punch in before dialing the number in which you want the calls forwarded to.

did u delete the number u forward from your forward menu?

I have busy call forwarding through AT&T. When my phone is busy, it forwards to my cell number (which of course has voicemail on it, in case I can't pick up). I don't believe there is a way to do it through your landline otherwise. There are other features where you can forward all calls by programming it (through AT&T).
