The flip up switch to rewind the film has fallen off, I have all the original pieces but cannot fit the bar in. How do I take off the rewind lever to fix it?

I'm not sure I see a problem here. There is enough slack in the film that the first few exposures can spool out of the canister without it turning. If in doubt, close the back and then _lightly_ turn the rewind crank to take up the slack. Don't force it, just turn it until you feel resistance. Then advance the film and see whether the rewind knob turns.

Film winder fell through - just want to put it back through the whole it fell through and screw the wind knob back but appears I will need to force it through and I don't want to break anything. Not sure...

If you are talking about the rewinder, it should screw on. If that does not work you will need to remove the top plate. If you have some issues doing that it would be better to have it serviced. Besides, these are quite old cameras thus it may well need a CLA as well.

Removing Nikon FM2N top plate

Unscrew the rewind knob and remove a circlip under it (You may need to grind the tips of a pair of round-nose pliers for this). Remove the disk and pull the rewind shaft stop off the hub (a spring and flat plate). Remove the two screws. You'll need a special tool to remove the little stud the shaft stop was pivoting on. Take a 1/8 inch screwdriver and grind a slot in the blade. Use this tool to remove the stud, then remove the three screws from the plastic cover ring.

Do not remove the center screw from the shutter speed dial. Remove three screws from the side of the dial and pull off the grip ring.

Yes, and yes. A small hook is needed, a small crochet hook will work. The latch is on the side farthest away from the center of the camera. You are pulling up to free the door latch. The rewind knob is tricky, but possible. Keep the door open while re-assembling as the center shaft will be loose till you get the knob on. The handle and pin are easy, assemble them 1st. Hold the center shaft, put the coil spring in, then the washer and finally the spring plate. Guide the handle/knob assembly onto the shaft with the parts. It is tricky to hold it all in place, but is possible.

The nob that rewinds the film fell off my camera, and i unfortunately could not find it. Is there anyway to get the film out of the camera before I get a replacement piece?

yes, after dark find the darkest room or closet you can find, make sure no light is coming in around the door. pull up on the rewind shaft to open the back door. remove the film and rewind it into the canister by hand. turning to the right.

There is a spring in the way. straighten a paper clip and from the top of the camera push it out of the way while you gently push the shaft up. rotating the shaft helps.
or you could file a little of the shaft collar on an angle ( if it's not there ) then rotate the shaft while gently pushing up. don't bend the spring.

push the rewind button on bottom of camera and turn rewind knob to the right, ( clock wise ) then pull the rewind knob up to open the film door.

Rewind shaft installation

to remove the shaft, lift the knob until the film door opens, place a small screwdriver between the prongs and turn the knob to the left. pull the shaft down and out. replace the shaft------ if the new shaft has a notch on the collar just rotate the shaft while pushing back in. if no collar, use a pin to push the spring away while inserting the shaft----- don't force it or you will bend the spring.

If the threads are not stripped on the knob or shaft, just screw it on clock-wise.
If the threads are stripped on the shaft, it must be replaced, same with knob.
To replace the shaft (if the knob is off) just pull it down in the film compartment. now there is a spring to hold the shaft up or down if the new shaft has a beveled shoulder just turn the shaft while pushing it back up. If no beveled shoulder is on the shaft then with a long needle or pin hold the spring back while pushing the shaft back up. Don't bend the spring. just move it out of the way.

First make a small hook on the end of a straightened paper clip. insert the hook and pull up rotating the hook as you pull up. being careful not to bend the spring near the hole. once the back door is opened check the rewind shaft, there should be a beveled edge on the collar of the shaft. rotate the shaft while pushing up. if no beveled edge on the shaft use the paper clip to push the spring out of the way while inserting the shaft. if it still will not return file a bevel on the collar of the shaft. I am assuming there is no film in the camera as the canister will prevent the shaft from falling in.

On my pentax k1000
the black fuzz looking stuff which is on the top of the inside when u take off the lens,is falling off a lil n getting inside where the mirrors are.
would i need to get it repair ?? would it mess up the pictures in anyway if i dont get it repaired?
