You need administrative rights to get into the PBX. Once in there, you can assign which phones receive incoming calls. It has been years since I worked on the meridian system, so I can't tell you the way to do it, but it is in the manual. It's not complicated. You can also set it up for DAY/NIGHT mode so that in the evening, if required, all phones could ring on incoming calls so that anyone in the building can answer them.
Well if that's the case, the printer should be detached or powered of during call operations. The printer detects incoming calls that's why it triggers it to operate. Turning it off during operation will surely be the solution.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
The first symptom of an incoming call ringing once then stopping is called trip and ring which is caused by a partial short on the phone line. The second symptom is called crosstalk caused by the two phone lines being shorted to each other. The service provider is most often the cause of these troubles. Often this type of trouble happens during wet weather or shortly after. The third symptom of static on the line cna also be caused by the same conditions. All three symptoms are likely caused by the same trouble from the service provider. Advise you report the trouble to your service provider.
When you unplug everything connected to the phone jack what happens? If it works, you have too many ringers or a short on the line. If it still trips the ring, you have a defective box.
If you are and know how to get into the admin programming of it, then you go to the line programming and select the number of rings before the vmail system answers.
set the rings to "3", then the lines should ring 3 times on your phone, then on the 4th ring the vmail system will answer
The problem may be a short on your line. (Have the local Teleco check your line.) If you have other phones, you may want to check them for dial tone(DT) when this happens. If you have no DT, your cordless may be the problem...unplug, and let charge overnight. If problem continues, replace the battery in cordless, or discontinue use.
