As a result, in the first place i can watching dvd movies any time and any place, in the second place this can prevent losting or damaging dvd disc.

If its a dvd decoder its probably not a codec (XVid Divx) issue, it is likely your dvd decoder. Try ripping dvds or installing a different decoder. Which decoder package do you have?

Dvd drive on laptop

You need a piece of software to play DVD movies. Is this an actual DVD movie, or is it an MP4 or WMV/WMA file?

Usually you need something like WinDVD to play a DVD movie. I don't think Media Player can play those.

Did you recently install another piece of software that might have affected your ability to play DVDs?
