Stan, do you still have the simply cinema 300 system intact? I'm looking for the remote eye for that system, I have the remote itself but no way for it to communicate with the sub.

I have a jbl esc333 5.1 channel home theatre system which i have connected to my sony blu ray dvd player using the normal red and white audio jacks. however wen i switch on a blu ray movie the system gives...

The red and white jacks are analogue audio only. You will not get 5.1 sound with them. Instead connect it via an optical lead preferably or Co-axil if the system doesn't have an optical.
See if that solves the problem.

JBL esc333 sub not working

My esc333 packed up soon after I bought it (2nd hand on ebay). No original speaker connectors came with mine so I had to hack into said connectors and solder some cables straight onto the PCB, all was OK for a couple of days then no joy, although it appeared to power up.

After a while I decided to strip the whole thing apart. I simply undid every connection and put it back together again (I'd suspected a dodgy connection). After this back in business.

My only gripe is that I received no external infrared receiver with mine. So some of the advanced adjustments, which you can only make with the remote I can't do. If you are thinking of scrapping yours I'd be interested in buying that off you?
