The oven door (Model SMW272) does not close completely. It may need an adjustment or a new seal?

Generally speaking, if a oven door does not close properly, and it is a drop down door, then it usually due to weak springs in the hinges.
There is no adjustment provided, so the only solutiom is to replace both door hinges.
Please rate my nsolution.
Thankyou.

I have replaced both of my oven hinges three different times, there must be a very bad design of these hinges since they need to be replaced so often. My oven is just 7 years old and I have had to replace them 4 times, and I also have had to replace the oven control board twice. Poor engineering....Thanks for your comments

Is it normal for hot air to come out of close oven door

Not unless you have a fan turned on. It sounds like the oven is sealing correctly. You may need a new gasket or the door tention adjusted.

Your oven door may have a defective hinge or simply is not aligned correctly. I am assuming the door, when shut, is NOT totally sealed around all four sides??? If the door is sealed around all four sides, than you have a switch that activates the light that is possibly defective. As for the electronic display, this display unit will have to be replaced.

Thermador oven door won't close all the way - seems like the seal is holding it open. I can press and hold it closed, but if I release, it pops out. The oven light stays on all the time. Model smw272

Have exactly the same situation. All the solutions I have seen talk about replacing the hinges or seal. But people report the same thing happens a month later. Looking hard at the door what it needs is something to pull it right at the top. So I installed a rare earth magnet from www.kjmagnetics.com I used part number BX884DCS which costs $4. It mounts with a couple of screws and I put it on the door a couple of inches down from the top.
Its possible that heat from the oven will kill the magnet over time but for $4 I can replace it for a lot less than hinges and it works great. The door closes more securely than it ever did when the oven was new.
Hope this helps.

Re Neff B1451 oven door not sealing against oven body at top

If you take the hinges off, you can fit some washers between the hinges and the door to make it close it further. Probably not as good as new hinges, but cheaper. 2mm of washers will close a 5mm gap

Bosch HBL745A Oven door

My husband just figured this out.

- Follow Door removal instruction from the manual.
- There is a screw at the end of the hinge that can be adjusted.
- Adjust the screw to desired height.
- Secure lock nut.
