If I understood well you want to disable it ..and use a regular usb mouse....the way to do it ..its go to device manager by click right on my computer than properties/hardware and device manager ...locate the device ...right click on it ..and than disable ....this will get it out from the circuit ..after that just add the mouse and install it ...
when you want to get it back do the same ...go to device manager click right on computer and choose scan for hardware changes..it will bring it back ...and all you have to do is to activate (enable )it ..

Keyboard unlock

Like most modern laptops, IBM/Lenovo laptops feature a built-in touchpad that you can use as a substitute for an external mouse device. If you experience a non-functional or "locked" touchpad, then you have one of two possible problems; either the touchpad's drivers are corrupt or a user has manually locked the touchpad. In either case, you can unlock your touchpad and restore it to functionality quickly.

Open your web browser and paste the following URL in the address bar:

Click the "Download" button and then click "I agree" to save the Lenovo touchpad driver installation file to your computer. Double-click the EXE file that you downloaded. Doing so opens the driver's installation wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-install your Lenovo's touchpad drivers. If your locked touchpad is due to a corrupt or outdated device driver, then your touchpad is now unlocked and functional. Activate Touchpad Hold the Windows logo key and press the R key to open a run command box. Type "control mouse" in the box and press Enter. The Mouse Properties control panel window opens. Click the "Device Settings" tab. Click the Lenovo Touchpad in the "Devices" list and click the "Enable" button to activate the Touchpad. Click the "OK" button to save your changes. Your Lenovo's touchpad is unlocked and ready for use. Lenovo support

Hi.. My lenovo Y510 laptop mouse pad is locked, so kindly suggest to unlock the mouse pad. Thanks n Regards Ratnadeep Nath 09322136821

First of all check if the hardware is detected. Look in the Device Manager under "Mice or Other Pointing Devices". If it's not detected means there's a problem with your TouchPad.

Normally you won't need drivers for the touchpad. It should be detected as PS/2 Compatible device.

Lenovo SL500 mouse pad want to lock in window XP. how can do that?

Hi. I think you should press and hold the Function(Fn) key then press F8 key on your keyboard to disable or enable your touchpad. If this doesnt work I think you should download first the drivers for your touchpad and then you can proceed with the steps i mentioned. Also you could disable it by accesing the device manager on your laptop then disable your touchpad. You could also do it by going to the control panel and its under the mouse settings, then from ther you can disable it.

SCROLL NOT WORKING ON LENOVO G450 LAPTOP

go to consumer support.lenovo.com. select the model G550 for the option 2 which asks for you to select your product, download the driver for ALPS touchpad and reinstall it to your computer. the scroll function should work after updating the drivers. If it still wont work, go to the control panel and configure it from the mouse properties. you would be given additional options once youve installed the driver
