Typically with an accessory plug, there would be a few quick trouble shooting methods. First, check the fuse, if you pull off the fuse box, the diagram will show you exactly where it is. If you change the fuse, and it is still not working, physically look inside the cigarette lighter plug And make sure there is no evidence of rubbish, corrosion or burning. If there is, it is time to replace the plug.
It has a fuse and if the power light comes on and blinks a specific code that would be a error code.
This set weighs close to two hundred pounds, follow the power cord inside the set as it goes almost directly to the fuse which should be a 6.3 amp fuse----careful if its bad, it is a slow blow and special, a Radio Shack or Generic one the same amperage and type will blow for no reason, if its bad don't keep feeding it fuses.
Check it's fuse inside, a blown or open fuse will cause won't work. Similar also happened if the cord wire is already open. Same goes also if the power switch is already defective. Either of those I mentioned will cause the unit not to work. Thanks for asking.
Chris,
Turn off main power inside front cover insure that the sub power switch is pushed in on right side of the control panel. Hold down the Utility/counter button and turn on the machine hold down until screen shows trouble reset touch trouble reset go OK. Power off then wait 10 seconds power on. If the code comes back do not attempt another reset you are resetting the code for the fusing unit (The hot Part) It can catch on fire and that would ruin a perfectly good day! Have a technician look at it Good chance fusing unit needs replacing
If you don't want to go to the bother of changing the fuse box then you can run a power wire direct from the battery to a switch inside the car and hook the blower motor to the other side. It will always be live so you will have to remember to turn it off when you turn the car off. Also make sure you put an in-line fuse between the switch and the blower motor. Make sure that when you feed the wire through the firewall that it can't connect with metal or it will short out. Put the wire through one of the rubber plugs that are already there. Hope this helps.
