Hi, My Sony Wega TV turns on normally with the green standby/power light flashing, but after about 40 seconds its shuts off without the the standby/power light turning red as it usually does when you turn it off. The standby/power light blinks several times then the tv(picture) comes back on for another 40 seconds, then the process repeats. Please note that the lamp light NEVER turns on, so per the manual, it is not a lamp issue, or is it. Please advise. -Felix
First area to check out is the power supply of the set.

Remotes can be ordered from various websites, I would check ebay, sony, those type of websites. The standby light flashing means your bulb on the TV needs to be replaced.

The usual problem is that the lamp needs to be replaced. However, there is no guaranty that lamp replacement will correct the problem.

I had the same problem and it costs 200.00 dollors for the lamp that bad

Check the fan that cools the bulb. It is directly behing the bulb. It should turn on when the power comes on. It apparently has a safety to protect your tv(and home). mine is in the process of going out. looking for online solutions as we speak.
