I have a Husqvarna 455 rancher I have been trying to adjust the idle and carburetor but it's still running a little rough. Any Suggestions?

Husqs are sensitif for dirt in carb and fuelsystem clean everything real good. airfilter, carb, tankfilter. after building together make sure it can not take false air. start with both screws closed and open for 360 degrees. after that start adjusting. compression must be ok. saw must hang on cord and not go down. good luck lot of work.

My Rancher doesn't maintain high rpm. What's wrong?

Most 2-cycle chain saws have 3 carburetor adjustments; idle speed, low RPM fuel/air mix and high RPM fuel/air mix. The fuel/air mix needle valves will probably require a "special" driver tool to adjust them. Be careful with the adjustments, you can really mess things up by incorrectly adjusting them, then your saw goes from running poorly to not at all.

Why won't a husky 350 idle

You most likely have a fuel delivery issue. This could be anything from bad fuel lines, clogged fuel filter to a bad carburetor. Start with replacing the fuel lines. They most likely need replacing anyway. The fuel filter should also be replaced. Then if the problem is still around, you have carburetor issues. I don't recommend rebuilding, they are too cheap to rebuild. Buy a new one.

455 rancher runs with chock out 15 second and dies

Try opening the choke half way as soon as it starts then all the way open in a few seconds... It only needs the choke to start and should run fine in less than a minute after idleing with the choke not engaged...

Started 455 rancher after setting for about a month. always used stabil in fuel. started with choke on and then turned off choke once saw was running. the saw seemed to be stuck in high idle and would take...

This sounds like the throttle spindle sticking, or the cable sticking, if you remove the top cover and air filter, then push the throttle spindlefully back to the stop screw with your finger, then try again, the spindle may be a little gummed up.

My 455 Rancher Husqvarna 20 inch chainsaw wont stay running while idling. its a brand new saw. don't know if it needed to be adjusted or if its pre adjusted already. Starts and runs fine but just won't...

Carb adjustmwnt requires a special tool and a tacho, the saw is set from the factory for the best emmisions, however it may need a small adjustment, this should be done by a qualified dealer, incorrect adjustments can damage the engine.

Reference the Husqvarna 350 chainsaw. Why does the chain continue to turn at idle? I just installed a new clutch. Adjusting the idle down causes the saw to shut off upon trying to accelerate.

Sounds like the clutch is still grabing. Easy solution is to apply the chain brake at idle to stop the chain turning. Try adjusting the L screw for a smoother idle.

I need to set carb on a husqvarna 455 back to factory

Start with "H" and "L" 1 turn CCW from lightly seated. Then tune for performance like this.
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. HTH

My 455 starts good and idles fine but wont go wide open it boogs down and misses

Here are a few things to consider :
- fresh fuel ratio 40:1
-new spark plug
-choke not sticking
-air fuel mixture correct
-bar and chain oil tank full, oil getting on chain
-bar sprocket in good shape getting lubed.
Please let me know what you find.
