Do not go to Utilitech.com; it's a different company. It's actually at place called TheNCC and is in tiny, tiny print at the bottom of the instructions.

Instead, go to:
http://thencc.com/ncc/support_results.asp?criteria=192773&Submit=Go&SearchRun=RunGo

You should find a PDF for the product and then zoom in to be able to read the instructions. I was not able to read instructions that came in packaging.

To set the dawn dusk setting - would be easy if it was in the manual - it is not - according to customer service after install and set up of correct date and time - hit program - make sure no programs are set - should just be dashes - continie hitting program until you see the sun and moon symbol - hit time button should show 12:00 am - keep hitting the time + button (cycle though the hours) until you see the sun and moon symbol - hit the time button 2 x and you should see the pre set dusk dawn setting cycle. Make sure it is in auto - should work.

If you hit the "-" button when cycling through the hours, it will take you immediately to either the to first the sunset then on the second hit the sunrise icons. This makes setting the program go much faster.

The Utilitech 0192773 digital timer will NOT work sunset to sunrise. It can only be programmed with on/off times. Order an Intermatic ST01 from Amazon to get sunrise to sunset control.

My timer will not automatically turn on outside lights for sunset/sunrise feature. Customer service told me I need a new unit. My unit will not get me to that feature throw the program feature... ??

Thelanesare answer was close, close enough for me to figure the shortest approach. Set time, date, zone, dust, etc. Then use program slot 1 to set a program that uses sunrise for all days to turn off the light and sunset to turn on the lights. To do this, go into program 1 and make sure all days are blinking and then uses + to cycle through hours until the sunrise or sunset time appears, resp. This approach uses the daylight timing to automatically adjust on and off using daylight times.

I am cycling through the hours and it never gives me the option to use sunset, sunrise times, just cycles through numbers. :(

Heads up. If you have first installed the switch and you cannot get a digital read-out on the screen (but the on/off button works the lights correctly manually), then you need to push the small "Reset" button in the middle of the buttons. This should do the trick and make the digital read-out appear for you.

Utilitech #0192773 setting the timer for not working

I do not have repair for defective timer.
Open following link for clear large-print instructions.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Add a comment about part of manual that does not work, for possible additional help.
1) Timer replaces single-pole light switch only.
2) Timer does not have a battery and must be wired correctly before programming can take place.
3) Choose either dawn-dusk or programmable on-off:
Timer can be set for dawn-dusk operation
-OR-
Timer can be set with 7-day on-off functions of your choice

Bought a Utilitech #0192773 to replace an older and non-working Intermatic SS7 series. The Intermatic had a black wire connected to hot, and a blue wire connected to neutral, and a red wire was capped off...

Utilitec 0192773 replaces single-pole switch and will not work for 3-way applications.

Open following link for clear wiring and programming steps for Utilitec 0192773
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Utilitec can also be tricky to program if you are setting up astro dawn-dusk function.

For others finding this thread, same wiring applies to in-wall programmable timers by GE, Woods, Swilight, Sylvania, Tork, Hagar, UPM, Leviton, Grasslin, Wattstopper, Westek, and Intermatic analog timers. Intermatic battery-operated, Brinks and Aube timers are wired differently since they also work for 3-way applications.

Does timer 15071 automatically adjust for changing daylight length in addition to adjusting for daylight savings time?

GE 15071 sold at Home Depot and on-line has feature that adjusts for daylight savings time.
GE 15086 does not offer automatic adjustment for DST
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15071

Daylight savings time (DST) is not same as dawn-to-dusk astronomical timer.
GE 15071 and 15086 single-pole timers do not have dawn to dusk astronomical feature.

For single-pole dusk-dawn astronomical with DST, Lowes sells Utilitec-0192773
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

For 3-way switching, 7-day DST -or- dawn-dusk astronomical:

I get "no0p" and have re-set and reprogrammed.

noOp is fatal failure of timer. According to what others say, battery replacement will not fix problem.
I've read people taking apart timer and adding oil to the gear ?/?, but have not done this myself and cannot say it works for sure.
Intermatic timers come with industry-standard 1 year limited warranty.
Suggest replacing with timer that operates on electric current rather than battery.

Advantage of Intermatic ST01C and EJ500 is 7-day programming -or- astro dawn-dusk function -plus- easy wiring -and- single-pole or 3-way switching. Whereas timers that work on electric current need neutral wire or ground wire to operate timer clock.

For 7-day function only, GE 15071 from Home Depot. Single pole only. Not for 3-way.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15071

For 7-day or astro dawn-dusk, Utilitec 0192773 from Lowes. Single pole only. Not for 3-way.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

For 7-day-astro-only plus 3-way switching, Aube T1034

Add a comment with your experience so others with same-similar problem can benefit.

Also take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.

How to set utilitech wall timer for dusk/dawn settings

The Utilitec 0192773 timer has astro dusk-to-dawn functions.

The manual is very unclear at the exact point you need it to say how to set dusk-to-dawn.

The following page has the manual, with explanation how to find the astro dawn-to-dusk setting
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

When you are programming the timer, press TIME button and hours start flashing.
Press the +/- button ... the trick is to keep pushing the +/- button until it finally gets to astro, and the sun-moon symbol shows on display.
When the sun-moon symbol shows, the display also shows AM.
Press the +/- again and PM show.

So if you want Program1 to turn lights ON at dusk (PM), then your display needs to show: 1 ON PM sun-moon.
To continue setting astro, do not set hours, just press PROG button.
Then repeat the steps above until: 1 OFF AM sun-moon show on display.

I have been trying to program my utilitech timer that controlls my front door lights. I have been able to program monday only. I did the same program for the other days but at dust the light will not come...

http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

1) I am going to guess you have the Utilitec 0192773 in-wall timer that replaces a switch
I say this because you are controlling outdoor lights -and- because you have the dusk-to-dawn feature.

2) Short answer: I think you have selected your days incorrectly when programming timer
To review your programs:
Press PROG button once and program1 ON displays
Press PROG again and program1 OFF displays
Press PROG third time, program2 ON displays >> a fourth time progrom2 OFF displays
And so on..

3) I suggest you write out a schedule of your times
Press PROG button and then press TIME button to see your programming: Review the days carefully, review if you have sunrise-sunset selected for each program. You can change the setting while going by using the +- button.

4) As a general rule, programmable timers do not 'operate as expected' if there is a conflicting program. For example program1 says on at 7 and off at 8, and program2 says the opposite.
Suggested solution is make a chart of your settings before programming.

5) Long answer: write out the manual instructions that seem unclear to you

6) To reset everything and start over, push & hold reset button with a paperclip.

How to program utilitech 2-outlet timer

I bought a Utilitech #0192775 self-adjusting wall timer to regulate some window candles. I want to simply set it to come on from dusk to dawn, and have followed their directions the best I can. However, it does not work. Even some of the steps in the instructions are not on this model, so it is impossible to follow their directions to the "t". Do you know how to get this wall-timer to do what it says it will do? Thank you!!
