If you replaced it with a refilled cartridge it is possible that whoever refilled it failed to reset or replace the smart chip on the toner cartridge. If you refilled the toner yourself the new Magenta toner smart chip must be replaced. If it is a new cartridge turn off the printer, disconnect power, and reseat the toner cartridge. Make sure all fo the protective tape and plastic was removed and nothing is blocking the smart chip contacts from making contact with your printer's sensors. If that doesn't work I would see if you can exchange it for another and try again. If the problem persists it appears your printer may have a problem with it's toner remaining circuitry.

Printer is wanting me to replace magnenta ink but i only want to print in black, system seems to be stuck on this request and will the print

You have to change the empty ink carthrige to be able to print on some models it is NOT required but on other models it has to be replaced to function properly becaus some printers make BLACK prints with all colours, (NO BLACK INK)....

Good luck!

Minolta 2430dl, cyan, magenta, and yellow toner cartridges all show empty. Black shows 42% remaining. How do I get printer to print?

Some printers will refuse to print _anything_, until you replace/refill _all_ of the empty toner cartridges. So, replace/refill.

HP Laserjet 2840 asked for drum replacment afther only 5300 pages but should make 20000. Prits where still perfect but now it refuses to print. Any solutions how to keep using the drum?

Check online for refill instructions and where to buy the chip to replace on the drum, most of the drums today have little chips to replace that tell the printer when they are used up, even when there's still life in them.

Poor quality prints ( even in black ) Brand new toner cartridge Have tried different qualities of paper

I am a computer dealer in Perth and had to replace 5 of these printers out of my pocket. There is no fix and Samsung was very unfair and refused to replace these shoddy printers. Colour printed fine but black is faded.
It makes no difference if original toners or compatible ones are in use.
Samsung is very unprofessional in refusing to replace these printers with an inherent design fault.

Toner is not out of ink but it lights up, refusing to print

In most cases cartridges have a special chip that remembers the toner cartridge serial number an amount of pages printed from it. This means, that even though there still might be some toner left in the cartridge, the chip's counter reaches it's predefined limit and informs printer, that the toner has run out. Just like that, suddenly.
It may also be the case, that the chip loses contact with the printer's electrical terminals - try reseating the cartridge in the printer. If that doesn't help, it's time to replace it I'm afraid.
Usually the printer will inform "toner low" for some time before it becomes "toner out" and refuses to print. If you get "toner low", then it's time to purchase a new cartridge to have it ready.

Printer

If you look your print heads have a colour symbol on them and cyan is a triangle. Magnenta is a square, yellow is a circle.
