Remove the batteries from both indoor and outdoor unit. Leave them out for 10 minutes. Replace the outdoor sensor with a new battery (2xAA), and then new batteries in the main unit (3xAA).

We would recommend a reset of your unit. Please verify that you are using good-quality, standard alkaline batteries such as Energizer or Rayovac, then follow the steps below. 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit indoors and remove at least one battery from each. 2. Make sure the A-B-C switch on both units match. Sometimes changing to a different channel can help.
3. Reinstall the battery in the outdoor sensor. 4. Reinstall the battery in the display unit. 5. Let the units sit within a couple feet of each other for about 20 minutes to gain a strong connection.

Try taking the inside unit outside as close to the transmitting unit as possible for three minutes. The signal might lock on to the setting you want to receive.
I know this thread is old, but I see no one answered the question - "How to remove the stand"
Grab the stand on the sides with your thumb on one side and fingers on
the other and pull down ... I had to "rock it out" or pull one end then
the other. It seems stuck but it will come off ... Another option would
be to take a small screwdriver and insert it in the small openings under
the standard gently push the tabs while pulling down on the side you
are doing. Push the tabs towards the outside of the unit not the inside
... in other words if you are working on the left hole push left (left
while viewing from the face of the unit)
My outside display stopped working, but the inside display still worked. I found that one of the two batteries in the inside unit was almost all the way dead. Once I replaced both batteries the outside display worked. I also checked the batteries in the outside unit. After all batteries were installed, I pushed the small button that is inside the battery compartment on the outdoor unit. It's now working perfect..
Double check the batteries and the direction in which they are installed. If there is one backwards in the sending unit that is outside, it will not send a signal. Also, there is typically one battery in the indoor unit that is responsible for receiving the signal from the outdoor unit. If all of the batteries are in correctly except that battery, you will see the display, but will not get the data transmitted from the outside sending unit.
I had same problem. Take all batteries out of both units. Put the batteries in the remote sensor FIRST. Then put batteries in the main unit. Within five minutes, they will link up. Problem solved!
