If your Ipod touch will not 'find' your Belkin N router - or it did and then vanished forever try this- it worked for me.
1.Turn wifi off on your computer, ensure you have the latest firmware on your router, reset the router to factory default.Do this using a wired connection from the admin page.
2. Change the SSID name from what it was previously say from Belkin xyz to my router.
3. Power down the router wait about 30 seconds then power it back up.
4. As you reset to factory setting you will need to put in your internet access info again - do this from the admin page. Also set up your security at the same time.
5. Restart the router from the admin page.
6. Unplug wired connection start wifi and connect to your computer -make sure that you have full internet access from you computer - dont forget you need to connect to the newly renamed router.
7. Take ipod and make sure wifi is off.
8. Clear network settings.
9.Turn wifi on and it should find your newly renaned router - join and enter your pass key.

Why it does it I have no idea neither do Belkin or Apple but it worked for me - a trial and error solution !

Good luck

Make sure the security type is WEP 64bit and not WPA/WPA2.

I just bought a new router and I am connected to my wireless laptop But I want to use my Ipod

Assuming that you are talking about an Ipod touch, just go into the settings app on the Ipod click on WiFi and make sure that it is on not off, then just choose your router, and if you have your router with a security code just enter it and you should be all set..

Do i have to have a router to connect to belkin wifi on my ipod touch?

Yes you need wireless router to use wifi in ipod touch or on laptop.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method.
Then click on wireless and enable it.
. Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a Belkin router & I just got an Ipod touch. My Ipod touch is not picking up my router. How can I connect to my router?

How far away from the router are you?
Try moving close to the router, then when connected you can move away.
Does your network have a hidden ssid?
Your network maybe hidden for security reasons so you will have to type in your ssid manually.
Also make sure that your router will allow such devices onto its network, e.g the router may only allow known computers onto the network, in which case you will have to add your ipod to that list.
Last but not least, make sure that your router is set to use all Draft wireless B/G/N 802.11.
Good luck :)

My ipod touch will not connect to my belkin wireless router

change the "security" type to WEP 64bit..... use 10digit number as password for security....
disable "wifi protected setup" in router.... the network(ssid) name should be a single word without any spaces and symbols....you can find SSID in "channel and ssid".......
you can login to router to do these settings.... hardwire any computer to one of wired ports in belkin router... type 192.168.2.1 in Internet explorer or firefox.... login password: no password... leave it blank and click submit... on the left side of router setup page you will find all the above key words.... do the settings accordingly...
