Date and time

When I turn on the camera, it wants me to add the date and time, which I do and then the camera works fine as long as I leave it on. When I turn it off and then back on, it asks me for the date and time again. Is there some sort of internal battery that needs to be replaced?

Pentax k2000 won't save time and date

In most modern cameras is a little rechargeable battery, that keeps the clock ticking. If your camera was a long time without power, perhaps this battery has died. I would buy a new set NiMH rechargeable or recyclo batteries, because they have a bit less capacity, but can hold power for as long as a year. Then charge them and leave the rechargeable batteries in your camera. Keep your fingers crossed, perhaps the little clock battery will be revived?

Power Shot G2 camera is at date screen when you turn it on. I changed date battery and it will not let me change the date. Camera has only be used 3 times. The camera powers on and lens moves but it will...

I had a similar problem. I solved it by taking the rear cover off and reseating a ribbon cable that connects the switches to the main circuit board. This connector is hidden under a large plug in connector - also a large copper/plastic ground plane has to be removed for access.

How to add time and date to a 10M or 6M pictures, seems

Sorry, don't know why Canon designed it this way, but it is only possible in "Postcard" resolution. This is true for all Canon models.

For those wishing to set their camera to include Date/Time stamp on the photos:
As mentioned, the date stamp only works in "Postcard" resolution. Press the "Func Set" button, then scroll down to the bottom to select postcard resolution.
Then press the menu button. Select the "Camera" menu, then scroll down to the the Date Time Stamp selection to turn it on.

Sony DSC-W150 power on keeps going to set date/time

The date and time settings are displayed after turning on the camera. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif It is normal for the camera to lose time and date settings if the internal battery is left uncharged for an extended period of time; some cameras will default to the time-setting screen when turned on if this happens. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
  1. Turn off the camera.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Insert a fully-charged battery pack into the camera.
    • If the camera is supplied with an AC power adapter, plug the adapter into a working electrical outlet and then connect it to the camera.
  3. Allow the internal battery that retains the time and date information to charge for at least 90 minutes.
  4. After enough time has elapsed to sufficiently charge the internal battery, turn on the camera.
  5. Set the time and date.
  6. Turn off the camera for 30 seconds.
  7. Turn on the camera again.
  8. Check to see if the date and time have been saved.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required. I AM TRYING TO SET THE DATE & TIME TO APPEAR ON MY PHOTOS.

you can only do date and time stamp under function button go to bottom where you can change size of pictures -go to right to W or wide-this is only setting you can do date time stamp on-when you change pic size and go back to menu you will see it highlighted and you can now turn it on-equals about a 2-3 megapixel size picture only-also just leave settings alone and have printer add it-date and time our always in pic data and most printers can add it

Set date and time comes up every time i turn on camera

The date time is controlled by another 'button' type battery in the camera- like a watch battery, there 'go' in time.
This is not a 'user' fixable item usually because it mean dismantliing the camera.
Sending away will be pricey- well on the way to the price of a new camera
So just live with it - I would
