My Hotpoint Ultima WMD 960 displays "F04" on the display panel before the programme ends. Have cleaned the filter and it worked OK in spin mode and finished normally but now have put in a washing load, it foamed up a lot and the F4 display is back again. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Error code F04 means pressure switch jammed on empty.
Do the following.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Remove large black hose on bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside the hose.
Remove the hose on to the pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Error F04, just removed the drain pipe from the pump (by removing the lower panel) and found a hair grip jamming the impeller

Wmd 960 ultima switches on prog select ok but then does nothing - no whirrs or sounds of water going in - water available

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

Cant find filter on my hotpoint Ultima

Good luck. All modern washers that I know dont have the filter you need. If a clean out is needed you will have to clean out the pump.

"Test" displays no washing done!

Your test mode is on, maybe accidently. Press "start", "cancel", "on" & "off" together for 10 secs, you will see d/off come on the display. Do the same & the test mode comes on again.
