It prints a line, like a smear the entire lenght of the page on the left side approximately two inches from the edge of the paper. We have replaced the cartridge thinking that would help, only it did not. Any suggestions???
If the toner smears after the page comes out of the printer you may need a new fuser. The fuser is the heating unit in the printer and can usually be seen from opening the back door. Check and see if it has a line worn down the same side as the mark on your pages.

What did you clean? If it was the Image Transfer Belt (the big mylar belt in the front), do it again. Print and see if the yellow is smearing again. If it is replace the yellow cartridge.
Take the toner cartridge out, shake it back and forth, and turn it around in a circle a few time. Put it back in the priter, and print. Order a new toner cartridge.
