My G7 stops responding at random intervals for around 3-5 seconds at a time, then becomes responsive again. There appears to be no pattern to this, I've tried it on different USB ports, different PCs and with different batteries none of which have made a lick of difference. I know other people have experienced the same problem, anyone know a cause, or even better have a fix?
Hmm my mouse generally skips quite a bit as well .. gonna move it away from the speakers.
So i upplugged the base/reciever and moved the unit and wire away from all the speakers and other assorted periphs and wires just tested and hasent skipped a beat so far. :)
God i feel dumb. i havent used this mouse due to my own dumb thinking or non thinking all because i had my reciever unit surrounded by other wires an stuff which was interfering with the signal or some stuff.
its sooo good having a mouse like the g7 work with no problem. it is truly a nice mouse to be using.

Sound tips flubarb, I have also gotten my lag to a minimum by just placing the base about 6" from the my usage area. That might be something for others to try while waiting for a part replacement.
After much Google-ing (and having the same problem, making a 'gaming mouse' that I just bought the worst 'gaming mouse' possible), I've found 3 things:
I've heard that Logitech suggests pulling out the base, just plugging the receiver in, and use your mouse until it completely dies of battery power. Then plug the base in, and throw a fresh new battery into the mouse, and then try using it. Honestly, I've never really trusted Logitechs tech advise, so I dunno if this really is gonna help at all, but might be worth a try.
I've also heard that the problem most likely lies within the base/charger, and there is some sort of electrical short (from the Boost Mode feature) that screws the base, which sounds like it might just call for a complete replacement on their part. *shrug* Definitely a pain, if true.
Lastely, and what seems to *kinda* work for my situation, I've noticed that I generally place the base/charger close to my computer/speakers/wireless router. It may just also be that the base is EXTREMELY touchy, but if I get it just right (and try to keep the base as far away from anything as possible), the intermittent mouse lags seem to go away (or atleast go to a minimum).

Dont worry SourCandy, just use a soft cotton cloth and some mild detergent like a glass cleaner and clean the bottom of the mouse and use a plain dark coloured mouse pad...!!! This shd definitely work..!! Hoping a gud rating from u...!!!

Thanks for the suggestion issy, unfortunately it didn't work. The mouse completely stops responding during this time; clicking the buttons or using the scroll-wheel doesn't do anything which leads me to believe there may be something wrong with the wireless connection between the mouse and the PC
Having the same problem. I'm like you, I think the problem is in the USB wireless plug into the base. I have a friend with one that I may borrow and test that it is the case. If anyone else knows please let us know a resolve. Surely Logitech knows of this and could possibly fix it in a driver release.
