Change the igniter the igniter is not getting hot enough to open the safety valve and what it does there's not enough heat on the igniter to ignite the flame of the burner

My Maytag Gas Oven MGR5750ADW preheats on certain temperatures and not others. For example it wont preheat at 350 degrees but will preheat at 380 degrees. At 350 we smell gas.

What you have is an ignition problem get this corrected before you experience a delayed ignition, the hot surface ignitor pulls enough amps 3-3.4 to power up and open the gas valve but ignition did not take place reason you smell gas don't know how old unit is ignitor may be weak good on draws 3-3.5 amps burner ports may be dirty or the bracket that the ignitor mounts too may have bowed away from the burner

Maytag gas oven takes a long time heat and smells of gas.

Important---if you smell gas--I'd be very very careful---could be your control valve or lines to it are malfunctioning or leaking. You might have to call in an expert repair person. How old is the oven? Some preliminary checks you might make are: Do you have a pilot lite or preheaters on the unit? If a pilot lite, make sure it is lit. An unlit pilot lite could sometimes give the smell of gas if malfunctioning. If so, there is is a procedure for lighting the pilot lite--check your user or installation manual. If you have pre-heaters make sure they are lighting up. Normally you have one for the top broiler burner, and one for the bottom oven burner. Check your preheater(s) by selecting either broiler or oven and visually checking to see if they are warming up. After 15 seconds or so, they should be turning bright red. You will see some light coming from them. Check one pre-burner at a time. If they do not come on quickly, shut off the associated valve. Again, be very, very careful with any buildup of gas. It could cause an explosion. At the least it could make you sick.

Gas Maytag range taking too long to preheat, sometimes there is a stong gas smell

It is likely that the lower ignitor needs to be replaced. The range switches the gas valve on and off because it is not sensing the proper amount of resistance in the ignitor.
