This just happened to me tonight too - but I ddint get the F11 code.
When I stopped the machine, there were small plastic threads everywhere and when I investigated - the white plastic ring that is covered by the gasket - if you pull the gasket back you can see it - was shredded! I am afraid of the cost to fix this one. My machine is about 7 years old. Is it fixable - or should I give up?

My f11 code is repaired! I got a clamp from Home Depot put it on the ccu unit on the right side tightened it shut and haven't got the stinking f11 code ever since. No more banging it again! I can finally do my wash without the horror beeping sound going off every time.

F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the main board and the motor control board is not being sent correctly. This could be a bad main board, motor control board or motor itself. The testing can get pretty involved. Try putting the machine in a self test mode and see if the error clears. Press Cancel, then by pressing the drain spin button once on the left side then move to the spin speed button the the right. Press this button until no-spin lights. Press the prewash button 4 times. C00 should appear in the display. Let it run it's tests, there will be 8 of them and end up on C08. If this doesn't work, it's best you wait for the service tech.

usually if this is a kenmore frontloader f11 is a communication error between the door lock and the ccu board. usually you'll hear a clicking sound before it fails. If so you need a central electric board. It is located directly under the top lid in the back. you can't miss it it's the only thing that has a lot of wires going to it.

gailo, F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the central control unit and the motor control unit cannot be sent correctly. Possible solutions: Check the harness between the two boards for loose connection. Driver motor, main board or motor control board may be bad. I have come across a number of these with loose connections and bad main boards. Put it into a test by pressing drain/spin on the left side. Then press the spin speed button on the right until no spin is lit. Then press the pre-wash button on the right 4 times until 00 comes up in the display. You are now in the automatic test mode. Let it do it's thing about 15 minutes and see if the error comes again. Catriver...post back.
