I have a 10 year old Bosch SMU 7000 and the drying function has ceased. Dishes are wet after all cycles. From what Ive read this isn't worth fixing because Bosch are so difficult to get into.

Talking about a kenmore 665.16389300 dishwasher. the "normal wash" button is blinking, but none of the other buttons seem to work and the cleaning cycle will not start when i press the...

Hi
Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Timing cycle not working. Washer continues to run in 1 cycle. Will remain stuck in wash cycle and contiunue to run. If moved on to rinse cycle it will again stick and not advance.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description " Will remain stuck in wash cycle and continue to run. If moved on to rinse cycle it will again stick and not advance.
"

I suspect the thermostat isn't satisfied when heating the water, hence it get`s hung up trying to heat in the part`s of the cycle it`s called for.

It very well could be caused by a faulty flow switch, NTC or heater as well but not very likely.

I'm basing this on the most common issues and it is a generalization, but if you provide a model number I can speak directly about your machine.

Model and serial are attached to the right hand side of the door,

i.e.

The dishwashers made by Bosch with a rotary dial timer have very few if any, issues with the actual timer or element but they do with the thermostat within the door panel.

If it ( the thermostat ) is not satisfied the water may heat but not be indicated via the thermostat, hence timer will not advance.

Here`s what you can try. If you have any hesitation or reluctance to service this yourself please call in an authorized B/S/H/ ( Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau ) appliance technician.

**Turn off the breaker at the service panel before attempting any service suggested **

  1. You will require a #20 torx screwdriver to remove the door panel by taking out the screws around the panel, except the ones along the top ( watch the edges they are very sharp )

  2. Once the panel is removed you should see the thermostat over by the detergent dispenser clipped to the inner door, remove it and test it. You`ll need a ohm meter/multi-meter plus a lighter or match to heat it up to see if it open`s & closes.
Example...

**NOTE** it can occur the thermostat can become loose and detach from the bracket which holds it in place, this too can manifest in the sysmptom of the timer not advancing.

Let me know how you make out and what you find.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

My dishwasher is brand new and is not drying the dishes!!! they are still wet. the model number is she55mi 2uc/60

If you are using a quick cycle there is not a dry cycle included due to the short wash. Ensure you use rinse aid even if you are using a product that includes it, as this assists the drying cycle by breaking the surface tension of the water and allowing less water to 'stick' to the load. Check that you have the machine set to the use the rinse aid and that the intensive dry is on. This can be done by following the instructions in your manual.
Extra Dry Heat
With this option you can raise the temperature of the rinse water and increase the drying time for improved drying.
This option is only for units with a display. If your unit has a display window, please follow the instructions below.
NOTE: The unit must be powered OFF before activating.
To activate:
Press and hold the left "Cancel Reset" button, then • press and hold the ON/OFF button.
The model number I think should read SHE55M12UC/60.
I hope this helps.
When the LED display window indicates a "0" or "1" • release both buttons.
To activate extra dry heat, press the left "Cancel Reset" • button until the display indicates "1".
To disable extra dry heat, press the left "Cancel Reset" • button until the display indicates "0".
Press the ON/OFF button to save the setting.

Wash machine sometimes gets stuck on rinse cycle & dryer not dry

Sounds like the drain hose for the washer is too far down in the stand pipe at the wall causing a siphon effect, try raising drain hose a little. The dryer sounds like the vent line from back of dryer too wall is pinched causing an air flow obstruction. Hope this helps.

Washing machine will not start wash - just beeps - key on display

Press and hold the Rinse Plus button and wait for the washer to start emitting a tone.

Whilst you are pressing and holding the Rinse Plus button, the tone increases in volume from low to high and then it briefly goes silent, before it starts over agian.

If you release the Rinse Plus button immediately the tone goes silent, then this will turn off the beeping.

If you don't release the Rinse Plus button in time, just continue to press and hold the button and the tone will cycle around again from low to high to silent.

Hope that helps.

Bosch washer spin only

Had a repair man here for the same issue. Learned two things:

1. Too much detergent causes 'soap lock.' The electronics will get confused when there's too many suds left after a rinse and shut the spin cycle down. That's why re-running the entire cycle without more detergent solves the problem. Use less detergent.

2. There is a way to manually get the spin cycle to run using diagnostics codes. Here's what my guy did:

a. Washer selection knob in OFF position.
b. Hold the 'Spin Selection' and 'Delay Start' buttons down at the same time.
c. While holding those two buttons, turn the Washing selector knob to Permanent Press-Cold.
d. Keep the buttons held down until the LCD control panel reads 'P:01'
d. Release buttons.
e. Use the 'Spin Selection' button to cycle thru the codes. Stop when it reads 'P:04' which is the spin cycle.
f. Press 'Start/Pause' button to begin the spin cycle.

I don't know what the other codes do but this should save you from having to run the entire wash cycle.

Hope that helps! Tim
