Jump the two wires going to the thermostat, if it starts , you have either a bad thermostat or a broken thermostat wire. If it does not fire up, you will need to check for 24 volts AC going to the gas valve from the transformer. If you have voltage, you have a gas valve issue. If no voltage, check for a limit switch that may have overheated with an Ohm meter. If they all test good, replace the transformer.

Williams wall furnace 5009622 the pilot light will not stay on

Hi,
The thermocouple is bad and needs to be replaced...
The thermocouple is the copper rod that sticks up into the pilot flame and then screws into the gas valve...
they are sold by lentgh so you need to measure the old one when you go to buy a replacement...

PILOT MY BE BLOWING OUT. IF YOUR WALL HEATER IS NEAR FRONT DOOR IT MY BLOW OUT. ALSO IF YOU HAVE A WEAK THERMOPLE IN PILOT IT WIIL SHUT OFF PILOT. WE USE MILIVOLT VOLTAGE METER TO CHECK WHAT THERMOPILE VOLTAGE IS. IT SHOULD READ 250 MILIVOLTS .CHECK THE LIMIT SWITCH MOUNTED IN TOP FLUE INLET IT SHOULD BE CLOSED AT THE 2 SPADE TERMINALS. CHECK ALL SCREW TERMINALS THAT THEY ARE TIGHT. HOME DEPOT MIGHT HAVE THERMOPILE FOR WALL HEATER

We have a Williams wall heater that was gas/ converted to propane that is newly installed. The thermostat does not work. Any suggestions?

Assuming the pilot is lit, try jumping out the thermostat wires where they come into the valve. A paper clip would work. If it works, the problem is in the t-stat circuit.
