An f3 error code is an open temp sensor error the problem could be in your temp sensor or your ERC. If you unplug the appliance and remove the two screws holding in your temp sensor there will be a clip. Remove the clip and ohm the temp sensor if you get a reading of approx 1100 ohms at room temp then the problem is in your control board.

What does E1 and F3 on the oven mean

Hello;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

F3 Code:
All F3-E Codes - Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD) or Warming Drawer Defect - Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Whirlpool GR396LXGQ oven comes on by itself & goes into clean cycle, code reads E2 -F3-

Whirlpool F3 faults relate to temperature problems in the oven. In the case of the error E2-F3, F3 is the general fault code and E2 is the specific error code. An E0-F3 error indicates that the oven's temperature sensor is open; E1-F3, that the temperature sensor is shorted; E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 575 degrees Fahrenheit in "Cook" mode; and E3-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 950 degrees Fahrenheit in the clean mode. Here is the probe to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.
