Instructions for speaking into a hand held dictaphone

I type for 2 doctors and their dictation is very bad. They cut off sentences, there is lots of noise in the background etc.

Is there a set of rules / instructions that I could give them for when they dictate?

Make sure that 'VOX' or 'VA' isn't turned on. This is Voice Activated recording and is designed to record only when the person is talking. The problem is that sometimes it'll cut in or out when you don't want it to.

Also, if the handheld has a 'Dict/Conf' switch, put it into 'Dict'. The 'Conf' setting is for conference recording - which will make the mic more sensitive and pick up more background noise.

Will Dictaphone Write work in Windows 7?

Hello yes it is. Walkabout Transfer Software, version 1.5.2, is required for the WA5220 portable. Backwards-compatible with WA5210/5215(DS) portables. Windows 7 compatible. For Dictaphone Digital portables and Trancription kits you can go to http://www.tvps.com/Departments/Digital-Dictation/Digital-Portable-Recorders/Dictaphone.aspx?sortorder=4&page=1

I changed the battery on my dictaphone walk about 5220 and got the following error message: memory access error 2003, 1001. Now I cant download the dictation onto my pc. What does that error message...

As per one of my other posts:

Press the 'OK' button, then it'll prompt you to 'Save All Data To PC'. If you have dictation on the portable that you want to save, connect it to the PC and hit 'OK'. It'll go into 'PC Operation Mode' and you can transfer your dictation like you normally would. Then when you disconnect and reboot the portable, you should get the error again.

To clear the error, press 'OK' again, but on the 'Save All Data To PC' screen, instead of pressing 'OK', press 'Esc' (I think that's the other option - this is from memory!) and it'll prompt you to delete the data. Press 'OK' and it'll format the memory and reboot - then you should be good to go.

The 2003,1001 error is caused by shutting off or cutting power to the portable while it's still in the Record mode. The portable is writing to the memory, and if you cut the power, it doesn't have a chance to finish saving the dictation - resulting in a corrupted file.

Lost manual for dictaphone 2750

For transcribing, you'll need the machine (2750), the power supply, a foot control, and a headset (unless you use the machine's built-in speaker).

For dictating, you'll need the machine (2750), the power supply, and the microphone.

Programming Dictaphone Connexions Phone

You should setup 2 different work types. Have the dictator select the work type prior to dictating the job. The higher priority work type should be sorted higher up in the pool script for Enterprise Express. If this is a Straight Talk, simply have the dictator select work type 2 (priority) and that job will come to you first. If you need help setting up a pool or a pool script please contact timtrent at hotmail dot com.
