1 Load the document face up into the Document Tray. 2 Dial the receiving party's fax number. 3 Press [Start/Copy]. The fax begins sending. Note If an error occurs during sending, the fax beeps intermittently for a few seconds and an error message appears on the LCD. If this happens, correct the problem and then press [Stop], then try sending the document again. The fax automatically redials if the receiving party does not answer or if the line is busy.
Sounds like a problem with the receiving fax machines phone line. Try send to another fax. If it is still doing the same thing, then the problem is in your line.
Changed transmission mode to normal in order to get rid of EMC error. Caution! depends on your telephone line or modem, for DSL is good for normal mode at 14400 bps else set it to basic mode at 9600 bps.

When the last page of your document has been sent
successfully, the machine beeps and returns to Standby mode.
When something goes wrong while sending your fax, an error
message appears on the display.
If you receive an error message, press Stop/Clear to clear the
message and try to send the document again.
You can set your machine to print a confirmation report
automatically each time sending a fax is completed. If you get the error message write it down it should always supply an error message if the fax did not go through.
