Washing Machine This is the third time I've had to pay a repair man to get a quater, unstuck from the drain of our Maytag MAH-24 front loading washing machine. Is there an easy way to get the drain ourselves? It's only a matter of time before it happens again. Do they really build these machines to swallow change, I've never had this happen before this unit?

    similar problem- maytag MAH2400 front loading washing machine. Noise when pump operating- load clanging as if coins trapped somewhere. Also SUDS error message, as if not able to pump out properly. Please let me know how to clean the pump filter

You lean the washer back as far as you can remove the 4 screws from the bottom panel to access the pump then remove the hoses from the pump and unplug it after that there are four screws securing the pump to the bottom of the washer remove them then then slide the pump out and clear it the easiest way to deal with this problem is to check your pockets for change and small articles before washing

You will have to contact Maytag and speak to their service dept and give them your model number. Ask them what a 5E eror is and when you call for service, tell the repair facility what Maytag told you. That will next to eliminate labor cost for Diagnostic.

HAV2360 Maytag does not drain before spinning. Drain cycle seems not to engage.
Unlike Whirlpol and Kenmore washers Maytag Washers drain and spin at the same time.

My maytag washer mah-24 have a "nd" msg. which mean "not draining" and now i cannot open the door to take the clothes out. pls. help.
Unlocking the door:
Turn on the washer, but don't start any wash cycles. After a few minutes, the door should unlock itself.

Troubleshooting the "nd" message:
"nd" means "no drain". Empty the (now unlocked) washer and fill the wash tub with just enough water to see a bit of water at the bottom of the tub. Run a drain cycle and check a) if it drains and b) if there are any unusual noises while it is draining. If either event occurs during the drain cycle, the drain pump may have to be repaired/replaced.

ND Error code
Error code "nd" means it is not draining. Click on this link to get the user manual:

Then click on "GET THIS MANUAL" to download the manual.

Not draining can be caused by the controller, pump, solenoid valve, or clogged drain.

Maytag MAH 24 does not drain and makes weird humming noise
i also have this problem. to get the door to unlock, just unplug the washer and it should open in a min or two. you will hear a click. you may have a mini flood but at least you can get your cloths out and bail out the water. my problem started when i began using a new detergent from Tide called total care. Still tying to get the pump to work.

Unlisted error code on MAH-24 Maytag front-loading washer
Did you connect the wires back to the pump. The neutral runs through the pump winding and to the door interlock. Check the connections on the drain pump and the harness in general. Sounds like a broken connection somewhere.
