When it says unregistered SIM that clearly indicates that the SIM you are inserting is not active from the service provider. There could be various reasons for the same which can only be clarified by calling the Service provider of your SIM.
I have come across this before (in South Africa) and the sim had in fact been 'deleted' either due to lack of use or somesuch. In this case the sim had to be replaced.
is it an unlocked phone?
The "Unregistered SIM" message means that you're using a SIM card for which this phone is not intended. You will need to have the phone unlocked and it should work.
If it is a new fone thenPhones are not shipped activated. You should look in the box for activation instructions. Read and follow them. is that a prepaid sim then probably the sim has been deactivated...
Only two possible things could be there troubling you either you are using CDMA Sim on your GSM cellphone or you are using a SIM which is outdated.
Thankyou for using fixya free utility.
Invalid SIM and Unregistered SIM are two different problems. Invalid SIM means the phone is locked to a certain company and you are trying to use a SIM card for another company. Unregistered SIM means the SIM card you are using is not active and you need to contact your service provider to get it activated. In order to unlock the phone so you can use anyone's SIM, you must contact the provider that the phone is locked to.
