An F1 error occurred when self-cleaning. I've unplugged the range waited and replugged it in, The error recurs and I cannot use the oven. How can I fix the problem?
Hello there:
On Magic Chef ranges, F1 usually indicated a defect in either the
keypad or the electronic control. If the error shows when the keypad is
disconnected from control, the problem is usually in the control. If
the error ceases with the keypad disconnected, the keypad is usually
the cause.
On some models the keypad and electronic control are 1 integral
part in which case the whole control assembly usually has to be
replaced to correct the problem.
: Until you can get this part replaced you can disconnect the ribbon cable from the board and the error should go away can
here is as picture of the part you will need
:
: disable the beeping? if this is happening
The buzzer circuit may be able to be separated from the
rest of the control. If wired to it, the wire(s) may be able to be cut.
or removed
hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Mike
Hello wills_amber - Typically, error code F1 indicates that the range has detected a runaway temperature issue (overheating). Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the error code does not clear, I would recommend contacting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the EOC (electronic oven control) on the range will need replacing.
Hi mannycarla - Typically error code F1 indicates that the range has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). A certified technician will need to check the RTD senor probe and/or EOC and replace if necessary. Meanwhile try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart range. Usually this will clear most false error codes. If it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
