You may be able to fix it yourself. Search this forum or my profile for a more detailed solution to the same question worded differently, it is the one will a lot of photos. Try shorting across this fuse protector IP1280 (looks like a resistor) on the power board. Trying to figure out why we just bought a 65dx83 home theater that worked fine and now all we see are colored dots and flashing lights

Although we cannot answer why you bought it at the first place, we can try to help you solve if you mention the brand, make, model and the symptom better.
Where do you see the dots and flashing lights ?
Is there pattern ?
I mean when does it happen ? as soon as you power on ?
Most flashing LED (red or green) on the front panel are Error codes. So observe, count and mention the pattern here.

Bose system is just over 1 yr old, hooked up to Smart Tv ( same age) sound was working fine, turned volume down, no sound at all after that

Hi, You have a Bose Home Theater System hooked up to your television and I'm wondering if you're controlling the volume through the Bose Home Theater System or the television because both have a volume control and if you have the television volume turned down and you're using the Bose Home Theater System for volume or visa-versa then you're not going to get a decent sound. I hope you know what I mean...... CHEERS..

Not playing voice but playing music/surround

sounds like you may have a dodgy scart lead.check that none of the pins are loose/damaged. Also check the sound settings on the tv, it may have reset itself to the default sound setting. Or it might just be the audio settings on your dvd player have been adjusted, almost all dvd movies have there own audio adjustments.
